The game kicks off at 8pm (UK) when Brighton hosts Manchester City on Saturday 11 July at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton and Hove Albion have struggled with goals
this season and with average of little over 1 goal per match they have one of the
worst records in the league. They had a difficult fixture in Liverpool midweek
and another nightmare fixture is scheduled for Saturday against Man City.
Having said that, with their single-goal away win against Norwich on 4 July
they have all but ensured their staying in the top flight.
For City fans and players, last weekend's defeat to Southampton was a sobering moment. After giving the chamions Liverpool a real thrashing they went to St.Mary's Stadium and lost by a single goal after failing to convert numerous chances. It was a timely reminder that all is not over yet, meaning Manchester City haven't still secured the 2nd place, with a six-points advantage over Chelsea in 3rd and seven-points over Leicester, although, they do have a game in hand over each of those teams.
The Seagulls are almost totally safe from
the relegation and it would take a huge change of fortunes for those teams bellow them to overtake them even
in the worst-case scenario where they lose all of their games until the end of
the season.They have only managed to win once at home in their last seven
Premier League matches (W1,D3,L5) and they went 12 matches without scoring in
this seeason.
They have lost their last five games
against Man City in all competitions and it will probably be another winless
night for them on Saturday.
Manchester City have
no new injury worries. Gabriel Jesus may again step in for the sidelined Sergio
Aguero. While they might not need the Argentinian against Brighton, they
desperately need him back if they want to progress to the finals of the
Champions League. Against Brighton they should have enough firing power to
create plenty of chances and to put the game to bed early. Brighton's defence
probably won't be as resilient as Southampton's.
As mentioned above, their European quest is also far from over,
so Pep Guardiola will probably rotate his squad again in search of another
three points to lock the 2nd place.

Graham Potter will not feel the pressure with both Liverpool
and Manchester City visiting the Amex Stadium in the space of three days. After
