SHEFFIELD UTD VS WEST HAM MATCH ANALYSIS
The hosts have had a disappointing start, which is a worrying situation for the Blades, as they continue their eight-game winless streak. After getting their only point in the league so far against Fulham at home (1-1) in the 5th week, they continued their losing streak in the next three matches, which puts them at the bottom of the table, with only them, Burnley and West Brom being without a win in the Premier League. As for the Hammers, they are in 12th place with 11 points after eight weeks (W3-D2-L3). The Hammers have been producing fine displays in the Premier League recently, with only one defeat in their last six fixtures. They went on international break on a positive note after defeating Fulham (1-0) at home.
The Blades need to quickly turn their fortunes around and in Chris Wilder, they should have a manager who would know how to get them back to winning ways. However, it will be awfully hard to repeat the last year's campaign and more realistically, the number one objective for 2020/21 will be to ensure they stay up comfortably. They had three tough matches in a row - against Liverpool, Man City, and Chelsea – and are desperate for a win.
This is the Blades' worst start in the league under Wilder. They picked up nine points from their opening eight games last season scoring seven and conceding seven, but they have already shipped twice as many goals in 2020-21 as they had at this stage last year and have only scored four times. The most recent defeat against Chelsea (4-1) was their fourth on the road this season, as Chelsea came from behind to beat them comfortably. The international break potentially came at a good time for them as they should try to regroup for winnable matches against West Ham and West Brom next.
The Hammers on the other side, have had some fantastic results so far. They shared the spoils with Man City in their last home game (1-1 )and had easily dispatched the likes of Wolves (4-0) and Leicester (0-3) and drew against the Spurs after an astonishing comeback (3-3). They know how to raise their game against top clubs, but victories against lesser opposition are just as important if they want to finish in the top ten.
The win against Fulham most recently was one such match. They needed a bit of luck too, as Fulham’s Ademola Lookman missed a Panenka-style penalty with the last kick of the game. The game had looked likely to finish without a winner before Tomas Soucek drove home inside the box in the first minute of injury time. West Ham were riding their luck against their London rivals, but against the Blades, they should be on top of their game, as the host will be desperately looking for the win.

Sheffield Utd will want to bounce back from a heavy 4-1 loss to Chelsea when they host West Ham at Bramall Lane on Sunday.
