Bochum has three points after as many games and Hertha is a rock bottom team without any from the start of the new season. Read our reasons for Bochum vs Hertha Berlin prediction and betting tips.
Bochum is well aware that home form could be crucial in their attempt to remain in the Bundesliga after this season. The home win against Mainz gave them only points so far, and after away defeats against Wolfsburg and Koln were fine lessons for Bochum. Now they know better, what they need to fix, as soon as possible. Their striker Simon Zoller is a key for their attack, as he provided a goal and two assists so far, grabbing the attention, early in the season. On the other end, goalkeeper Manuel Riemann tried everything to prevent defeats. He has saved 82 percent of all the shots on his goal, and that is good enough, third in the league at the moment.
Bochum started very well against Wolfsburg, playing adventurous football and providing danger after quick counterattacks. The game against Koln was different, as they looked like a second league team, unable to find a good attacking rhythm and rarely testing Timo Horn. Kolm was the dominant side throughout the whole match, hitting the frame of the goal twice and scoring twice in the last ten minutes. Zoller’s consolation goal came in the 94th minute. The good thing for Bochum is their home form, as they have won the last five domestic matches in a row.
Bochum: Riemann - Bockhorn, Lampropoulos, Bella-Kotchap, Soares - Losilla (c), Tesche - Zoller, Löwen, Holtmann - Polter
Out: Asano (groin), Gamboa (elbow), Leitsch (muscular)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Thomas Reis
Hertha is a major negative surprise after three matches. They are awful defensively, tend to switch off after conceding and summer signings didn’t show their worth at the start of the season. Kevin Prince Boateng, Stevan Jovetic, Ishak Belfodil, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Myziane Maolida, Marco Richter, and Suat Serdar all came to Berlin, trying to give Hertha new blood and lift them in the top tier of the standings. For now, coach Pal Dardai doesn’t have the right answers and if they lose again he will be under big pressure. With three straight losses, Hertha has made their worst ever start to a Bundesliga season. With five probable starters out, they will have a tough job against Bochum. Davie Selke and Krzysztof Piatek are out in the attack, Jovetić is injured, so the attack will be completely reshuffled.
Hertha: Schwolow - Zeefuik, Boyata (c), Stark, Mittelstädt - Ascacibar, Tousart - Richter, Serdar, Boateng - Belfodil
Out: M. Dardai (ankle), Jarstein (match fitness), Jovetic (calf), Piatek (ankle), Plattenhardt (groin), Selke (ribs)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Pal Dardai

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
