Sporting Lisbon, fresh off a stunning 4-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League, return to Primeira Liga action on Sunday with high confidence as they visit Braga. With manager Ruben Amorim set to leave for Manchester United, this match will mark his final game in charge of Sporting, and he’ll be eager to leave on a high note.
Braga’s recent Europa League performance has been inconsistent, with a 1-1 draw against Elfsborg adding to a winless streak of three games (D1, L2). Despite a strong opening against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Braga has struggled to maintain momentum in Europe, especially with back-to-back defeats against Olympiacos and Bodo/Glimt.
Domestically, Braga’s form has been more positive, winning four of their last five league games, though a 2-1 loss to Porto interrupted that run. They currently sit fourth in the table, just two points behind Benfica. Braga will look to improve their home form against a formidable Sporting side, but with only one win against Sporting in their last 14 meetings, they face an uphill battle.
Sporting Lisbon are in phenomenal form, unbeaten in the Champions League so far and sitting second in their group. Their impressive 4-1 dismantling of Manchester City saw Viktor Gyokeres deliver a hat-trick, establishing himself as one of Europe’s elite forwards. In the Primeira Liga, Sporting remain the only team with a perfect record, boasting ten wins from ten matches, 35 goals scored, and seven clean sheets.
Since a narrow Super Cup loss to Porto in August, Amorim’s side has won all but one of their last 16 games across all competitions, making them the team to beat in Portugal. With Amorim eager to leave Sporting on a high note, this last league game under his guidance is crucial as Sporting look to extend their lead at the top of the Primeira Liga.
For Braga, Simon Banza has been a reliable scorer and will be pivotal in trying to break down Sporting’s defense. Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres is in sensational form and will look to continue his goal-scoring streak, while Pedro Gonçalves will be a key creator in the midfield.

With Sporting’s impeccable domestic form and high morale after their Champions League win, Sporting to Win is a strong option. Given Sporting's defensive record, Sporting to Win and Under 2.5 Goals could offer additional value for bettors expecting a disciplined performance.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
