Brentford host Brighton at the Brentford Community Stadium (London) in the 4th round of the 2021/22 Premier League season and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, September 11. Read our reasons for Brentford vs Brighton prediction and betting tips.
BRENTFORD VS BRIGHTON: STATS & FACTS
Considering that they stormed their way into the Championship playoffs last season courtesy of a league-leading 79 regular season goals (1.72 per game), it has surprised many to discover that Brentford’s defending has played such a significant role in August’s success. In fact, their one goal conceded from their first three PL fixtures is the best of any newly promoted teams. After an undefeated start to this EPL season (W1, D2) Brentford could be in for a brilliant September. Meanwhile, the Seagulls also started well by taking three wins from four games in all club competitions in August. However, a constant failure to defeat newly-promoted clubs and lowly-ranked teams during the last EPL season contributed to Brighton’s near-relegation and three winless Championship trips to Brentford between 2014/15 and 2016/17 (D2, L1) will further bring back bad memories.
BRENTFORD VS BRIGHTON: PRE-MATCH TALK
Brentford have started life in the Premier League in impressive fashion, unbeaten after three games, picking up a victory against Arsenal in their opening game and back-to-back draws away at Crystal Palace and Villa, as the Bees stretched their unbeaten run to 15 league and play-off matches. The Bees have also been sensible in the transfer window and have carefully added five signings. Thomas Frank’s side will be a stern test for any top-flight side facing them this season and the Seagulls will certainly have their work cut out for them this weekend.
As for Brighton, Graham Potter’s side have added well-needed goals to their resolute defence as they look to make the leap from relegation candidates to a solid Premier League outfit. However, even though most Seagulls fans would have taken six from a possible nine at the start of the season, a defeat against Everton at the AMEX before the international break was a reminder of how tough points are to come by at this level, especially when you are not at your best. The positive results against the likes of Brentford would be a good statement of intent from Brighton.
BRENTFORD VS BRIGHTON: TEAM NEWS
Brentford acted really early in the transfer market. The very team that got promoted from the Championship was built with the Premier League in mind, but they’ve also added players with class and experience to their ranks. The Bees have added centre-back Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic, Frank Onyeka from FC Midtjylland - a box-to-box player who has added steel and energy to their midfield, while Yoane Wissa adds pace to their left wing. After adding midfielder Myles Peart-Harris and goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez, Brentford almost have a full house.
On the other hand, for Brighton, this transfer window may be more about who stayed rather than who arrived at or left Amex Stadium. Ben White’s sale to Arsenal was good business but Yves Bissouma staying is hugely significant. A new extended deal could be around the corner for the key midfielder. The arrival of Marc Cucurella from Getafe on deadline day was welcome. It’s another option on the left side to provide balance and allow Graham Potter more flexibility. However, some Albion fans will once again be disappointed the club has not brought in a new striking option.

Brighton’s positive start to the season was curtailed slightly when Everton visited the Amex before the international break, but they have the chance to get back on track as they travel to Premier League new boys Brentford. Thomas Frank’s side are yet to taste defeat in the top flight and just about shade the betting. However, we like the look of the odds for the visitors to take home the three points – Brighton win is our BettingKick’s Brentford vs Brighton prediction.
