Crystal Palace host Tottenham at Selhurst Park (London) in the 4th round of the 2021/22 Premier League season and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, September 11. Read our reasons for Crystal Palace vs Tottenham prediction and betting tips.
CAN EAGLES HOLD THE SPURS?
One point and no goals from their opening 3 games under Patrick Vieira doesn’t look good for Crystal Palace, but there was plenty of encouragement to be taken from their spirited performance in the 2-2 tie against West Ham last time out. Loan signing Conor Gallagher showed his class with 2 well-taken goals, which is something the Eagles can look to build on. There looks to be a decent chance that they can at least get on the scoreboard against early Premier League leaders Tottenham, who have started life under new coach Nuno with three 1-0 wins but defenders Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have looked shaky before and their solid start may not last. Tottenham have scored in 13 of their last 15 league away games and have a depth of striking talent with Harry Kane back in the fold and Heung-Min Son already among the goals. However, this could be the game when their defence is finally breached.
NEW SIGNINGS TO GALVANIZE VIEIRA’S PALACE
Palace made wholesale changes over the summer and alarm bells were ringing after a heavy defeat at Chelsea and a tame draw with Brentford at this venue. However, there was a lot more to like about the way they twice came from behind in a 2-2 stalemate vs West Ham, where Conor Gallagher bagged both goals. The young Englishman could prove to be a vital addition to the Eagles this season after joining on loan from Chelsea.
The Eagles also completed the deadline-day signing of French forward Odsonne Edouard from Celtic for an initial fee reported to be £15million. Vieira will hope he could give Christian Benteke much-needed support up top, as the striker just can’t seem to hit his old form. Scoring goals and finding a prolific forward have been the Eagles’ biggest challenge for a few seasons now, but, hopefully, two goals and the first point on the board is an encouraging sign.
KANE STAYS WHILE SON CONTINUES TO SHINE
Spurs are at the head of affairs thanks to a trio of 1-0 triumphs over Man City, Wolves and Watford. Son Heung-min grabbed a couple of those match-winning strikes while Eric Dier was nominated for the August player of the month award after impressing in a solid defence. A late £25.8million move for four-times capped Brazil right-back Emerson Royal from Barcelona will further boost that rearguard.
However, keeping hold of Harry Kane was Tottenham’s best bit of business this summer, and he celebrated with a double when Pacos Ferreira were beaten 3-0 in the Europa Conference League. The striker also shone for England during the international break and has a great record versus Palace, including four goals in the last three head-to-head meetings. With him and Son Heung-min on song, Tottenham look to maintain their 100% start.

Crystal Palace are set to become the first side to start a top-flight campaign with four consecutive London derbies. The Eagles are winless in their last 11 such games in the Premier League (D6, L5), but they have held Spurs to a draw on home turf for the last couple of seasons and seem to be finding their feet. This fixture has finished 1-1 for the past two seasons and both teams to score again appeals to us as good choice for the Bettingkick’s Crystal Palace vs Tottenham prediction.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
