England host Andorra at the Wembley Stadium (London) in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifications and the match kicks off at 5 pm (UK) on Sunday, September 5. Read our reason for England vs Andorra prediction and betting tips.
ENGLAND VS ANDORRA: STATS & FACTS
England’s impressive 4-0 away victory in Hungary made it four wins from four outings as they stretched their lead at the top of World Cup Qualifying Group H to five points. They’ve never previously qualified for seven straight World Cup finals, yet that now looks a formality, especially if they pick up another win here against Andorra, a nation they’ve hit 16 unanswered goals past across the last four head-to-head meetings. As for the visitors, they were very happy to secure their first win of WCQ in midweek, even if it did come against whipping boys San Marino. That joy is likely to be short-lived however given their torrid record on the road in WCQ encounters. They last avoided defeat in such a match back in February 2005 (0-0 vs North Macedonia), losing the 20 matches since and not scoring in any of the last 13.
ENGLAND VS ANDORRA: PRE-MATCH TALK
England were expected to be given a decent work-out by Hungary in their first match since losing out on penalties to Italy. However, Raheem Sterling opened the floodgates on 55 minutes before Harry Kane, Harry Maguire and Declan Rice also hit the target - the Three Lions now have 12 points from four games. After the disappointment in the Euros final England have to qualify for Qatar and give themselves another opportunity of playing at a major championship. They’re in a great position now and with a trickier trip to Poland coming up, this looks an ideal opportunity to get another three points and tighten the grip on the first place.
Meanwhile, Andorra have plenty of experience in their side and a number of players that ply their trade in Spain but none play in the top tier of Spanish football and the team's overall quality pales in comparison when to the riches of England. In terms of goals, Lima is the visitors' biggest threat despite being a defender as he has 11 goals for his country which makes him Andorra's top scorer as well as their most capped player. They face a massive task here, however, even against a rotated England side. Their last match against England ended in a 6-0 defeat back in 2009.
ENGLAND VS ANDORRA: TEAM NEWS
England manager Gareth Southgate will ring the changes from Thursday's 4-0 win away to Hungary. Declan Rice, Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, and Kyle Walker would miss the qualifier against Poland if they are booked on Sunday so they may be held back. John Stones will more than likely play all three matches as he hasn't played at all for Man City, so Harry Maguire may be given a rest here. Finally, Jack Grealish may continue in the attack, while Patrick Bamford will hope to make his England debut.
As for Andorra, Marc Pujol and Jordi Alaez are both suspended for Andorra after bookings in their 2-0 win over San Marino on Thursday night. It wouldn't be a surprise if Andorra resorted to a back five against England on Sunday, particularly with attacking players like Pujol and Alaez suspended. Also, Marc Vales earned a perfect 10 rating against San Marino after scoring both goals on Thursday.

Although the visitors have now secured two consecutive clean sheets, they’ve faced three nations ranked inside FIFA’s top 50 so far this calendar year and conceded 3+ goals in each (L3). Therefore England are likely to make light work of Andorra again here, and, while Gareth Southgate is expected to make changes against a team rated 156 in the FIFA rankings, those coming in will be eager to please.
