Leverkusen and Gladbach are neighbors at the standings after both teams got 1-1 draws in the premier games in the Bundesliga season. Read our Leverkusen vs Gladbach prediction and betting tips.
Leverkusen didn't perform at their usual standard, a draw away against Union in Berlin isn't a bad result, but performance, especially regarding the attack and created chances was subpar. Only Moussa Diaby's goal at the start of the match and final 15 minutes were good enough and despite some solid defensive effort new coach Gerardo Seoane surely has a lot of work with his players. Czech international and top scorer of the EURO Patrick Schick was at times frustrated, because he spent most of the match without any touches in the final third, so some spark of creativity and more energy is needed when Gladbach comes to town.
Ex Young Boys coach has a good roster with some gifted players but at the start of the season besides keeping the ball they didn’t show much offensively. Leverkusen made some signings through the week but is clear that players like Andrich or Hincapie are the future of the club, not finished products that can give help right now. Florian Wirtz is still sidelined because of the injury and he could help Leverkusen's shortages in the middle but it is unclear is he fit enough to be even at the bench for the Saturday game. The list of injured players provides good information about what this team needs, as several probable starters are unavailable at the moment.
Leverkusen: Hradecky (c) - Retsos, Kossounou, Tah, Bakker - Aranguiz, Palacios - Diaby, Demirbay, Amiri - Schick
Out: Alario (groin), Bellarabi (thigh), Hincapie (not included), Fosu-Mensah (knee), Tapsoba (ankle)
Doubtful: Frimpong (groin), Wirtz (groin)
Coach: Gerardo Seoane
Gladbach played the most difficult match of the season in the first round and a 1-1 draw against Bayern is a very positive sign. Their performance on Friday was even much better than the final result as they looked like a more composed team and probably they regret not taking the win. New coach Adi Hutter must be pleased because his team showed a lot of character, they attacked with intensity, give Bayern a hard time with some good high pressing and they also outran the best team in the country. All that gave them a great confidence boost ahead of upcoming games. Playing against Bayern is always motivating for the players but same kind of fighting spirit they must produce in any Bundesliga game if they want to finish as a TOP4 team in this season.
Seoane will probably preserve the same lineup from the last game because Marcus Thuram is a transfer target from Inter Milan, and Denis Zakaria is still unfit to play 90 minutes. Captain Lars Stindl remains a crucial player for Gladbach after reaching double figures in goals and assists the last term. He is capable to connect midfielders and forwards and he perfectly finds empty spaces in the final third so he would be of great help for Alassane Plea who continues to be in a lonesome central forward role.
Gladbach: Sommer - Lainer, Ginter, Elvedi, Scally - Kramer, Neuhaus - Hofmann, Stindl (c), Thuram - Plea
Out: Doucoure (Achilles' tendon), Embolo (thigh), Kone (knee)
Doubtful: Zakaria (match fitness)
Coach: Adi Hütter

Their H2H is more than interesting with an average of 3.3 goals per game, with at least one in the previous 32 matches. It should be fun despite all the troubles Leverkusen has in the attack at the start of the season. BettingKick’s Leverkusen vs Gladbach prediction is: Both teams to score.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
