Mallorca will face Espanyol at the Mallorca Estadi (Palma de Mallorca) in the La Liga Round 3 match and the game kicks off at 7 pm (UK) on Friday, August 27. Read our reason for Mallorca vs. Espanyol prediction and betting tips.
Mallorca appears to be off to a promising start in their resurgence in La Liga. This season, Espanyol was also promoted to the top division this season. In the promotion standings, Espanyol was top while Mallorca narrowly missing out on a place on the list. This upcoming matchup will be more of a showcase of who is the best among the newcomers than anything else.
Mallorca opened their season campaign with a 1-1 draw at home against Real Betis. Mallorca, despite the fact that it did not dominate, ensured that it scored early, but Juanmi equalized to prevent Mallorca from completing its comeback. During the second game of the match against Alaves, the hosts fell victim to a late defeat as Mallorca came from behind to win in the 80th minute, leaving Alaves helpless. As a result of this, Moreno Vicente-Espanyol’s manager should prepare for the arrival of this "fortunate giant."
Espanyol has been putting up a respectable performance, but they have not yet been successful. The good news is that it has not surrendered a goal or lost a match since returning, and all of its matches have finished in a goalless draw. In the first encounter, Osasuna served as the host, and both sides put out similar efforts, albeit Espanyol had more shots on goal than Osasuna. The same thing happened against Villarreal last weekend, and the game finished in a stalemate as well. While Espanyol has not shown any signs of hazardous attacking, it is hoped that they would do so in their upcoming encounter.
Last season, back to La Liga 2, the rivalry was palpable. As hosts, Espanyol was held to a scoreless draw in their first encounter, and in the second, Espanyol was able to break through their opponents' defense and win 2-1. We anticipate that the two will put in excellent performances in this top tier, resulting in more goals.

The next encounter appears to be intriguing, with both clubs from La Liga 2 meeting in the top division for the first time this season. Both avenging their defeat and securing their second victory will be priorities for Mallorca. Espanyol will be well prepared in the pursuit of their first win of the season. As the two sides square up in Mallorca's stadium, we expect them to be defensive. Bettingkick’s Mallorca vs. Espanyol prediction is under 2.5 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
