Monaco will face Lens for the third game in the Ligue 1 2021/22. The match takes place at Stade Louis II stadium on 21st Saturday August 2021 at 4:00 pm (UK). Read our reasons for the Monaco vs Lens prediction and betting tips.
Monaco has struggled to pick any victories since the beginning of the season. Monaco, who will host the encounter against Lens, is looking forward to earning their first victory of the season. It is also looking forward to victory in Monaco, and when the team arrives there, they will utilize every technique in their arsenal to avoid being humiliated by their long-time adversary.
Monaco's first match against Nantes concluded in a 1-1 draw. Jean-Charles Castelletto scored an equalizer for Nantes in the first half of extra time after Gersons Martin had given Monaco the lead in the 14th minute of the game. Monaco had controlled the game but had been unable to convert their dominance into goals. Monaco committed the same faults in the second game, this time against Lorient. They had a commanding advantage in ball possession (more than 60%), but the defensive Lorient turned two shots on target into the winning goal, and the match concluded in a 1-0 victory for the hosts.
Lens maybe a little better because they haven't lost a game since the season started. However, the first match against Rennes resulted in a 1-1 tie, with Rennes taking the lead and being the hosts. With a defensive formation of 3-4-1-2, Lens was able to prevent Rennes from scoring despite their superiority. Rennes took an early lead with Sulemana Kamal Deen, but Lens responded in the first half through Fofana to level the score. In addition, the game against St. Etienne finished in a 2-2 draw, as well. St. Etienne had taken a 2-1 lead in the 52nd minute, thanks to Bouonga Denis' goal. As time expired, Fofana raced forward to save their team from a humiliating defeat at their own ground.
In the previous ten head-to-head meetings, has won 5 matches (3H, 2A), drawn 4 matches, and lost one match to Lens. Lens won 3-0 on the road and drew 0-0 at home in the previous season. Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
