After the victories against Montenegro and Gibraltar, Netherlands and Turkey are playing a derby match that could decide the group champion and who will go to the World Cup in Qatar. Read our reasons for the Netherlands vs Turkey prediction and betting tips.
The Netherlands did not have big problems against Montenegro in the 4-0 victory. Louis van Gaal also gave a chance to some players who have not played for the national team so far and thus expanded the list of players for the next actions. Left-back Malacia and goalkeeper Bijlow made their first important appearances for the national team and lived up to expectations. The Netherlands struggled a bit in the first half, but after Lagator's foul on Depay in the penalty area, referee Manzano rightly pointed to the white dot. Memphis was precise against Sharkic and with that result, there was a break between halves.
The Netherlands allowed Montenegro to threaten in the second half, with the score 1-0, Stefan Mugoša was alone with the goalkeeper, but he shot far over the goal. In the next attack, the Dutch scored the second goal and the match was settled. The final score of 4-0 realistically reflects the situation on the field. After the match, Van Gaal was criticized by the media, who think that his 5-3-2 tactics are too defensive, but the coach of the national team used that to start a new war with journalists.
Netherlands: Bijlow; Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Malacia; Wijnaldum, F de Jong, Klaassen; Berghuis, Memphis, Gakpo
Turkey did not defeat Montenegro, although they were a much better rival on the pitch. Radunović's goal in the 97th minute took two points from them and now they have to reach a positive result in the Netherlands to erase that mistake. They also had a strange 45 minutes against the outsider Gibraltar, they missed a penalty in the early stages of the game, so they only showed class in the second half and with a few good shots from a distance reached the final 3-0. After a bad EURO, Turkey simply had to do better in these two qualifying matches, so the pressure on coach Senol Gunes still exists.
The good thing for Turkey is that they know how to play against the Netherlands, the bad thing is that a lot has changed since that duel in May and their 4-2 victory. Buruk Yilmaz was brilliant in that match with three goals. The question is whether he can repeat something like that. It also seems that the main Turkish players are not in great shape at the very beginning of the season, but it is still a very good national team that can beat everyone. Turkey's biggest strength at the moment is good shots from a distance and they scored goals so easily against both Montenegro and Gibraltar. If the Netherlands allows something like that, their goalkeeper will be in real trouble.
Turkey: Bayindir; Celik, Ayhan, Demiral, Muldur; Under, Yazici, Yokuslu, Calhanoglu, Karaman; Yilmaz

Both teams have a lot of problems on defense and the attackers should take advantage of that. Set-piece takers in both teams are at a high level and it is difficult to expect a match like this to end without goals. BettingKick’s Netherlands vs Turkey prediction is: Both teams to score.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
