Norwich host Leicester at the Carrow Road (Norwich) in the 3rd round of the 2021/22 Premier League season and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, August 28. Read our reasons for Norwich vs Leicester prediction and betting tips.
NORWICH VS LEICESTER: STATS & FACTS
Last season's Championship winners Norwich have endured a difficult start to life back in the Premier League, suffering back-to-back defeats and losing 5-0 to Man City at the weekend after losing 3-0 to Liverpool. They have now lost their last 12 Premier League matches, scoring just once and conceding 32 goals across these defeats. However, the Canaries have lost just one of their last seven home league meetings with Leicester (W4, D2). As for Leicester, they were outplayed 4-1 by West Ham in their first game on the road in the new campaign. Worryingly, it is now their fourth loss in the last six away games (W2). On the other hand, they have won five of their last six away league games against promoted sides - the only exception in that run being a 1-0 loss at Norwich in February 2020!
NORWICH VS LEICESTER: PRE-MATCH TALK
Norwich City’s defeat at Man City won’t have surprised anyone. There’s no disgrace in losing at the Etihad as a newly promoted team but the manner of the defeat was a concern. This was meant to be a different Norwich to the one comfortably relegated two seasons ago. The club had vowed to come back wiser, stronger, more streetwise, and harder to beat. That hasn’t been in evidence so far. Defeats can be forgiven against Liverpool and Man City, but if the same mistakes keep occurring it could be a long season for Norwich fans.
As for Leicester, Brendan Rodgers admitted that defender Jannick Vestergaard has a knee problem but hopes he will be training on Wednesday, and, my goodness, they need him at the moment. Conceding four isn’t the big problem as it could have been more, it was the nerves at the back for the Foxes, centrally, and it spread. As an attacking force, they were also miles off it. Confidence will have taken a knock here. Leicester are probably the better team, but Norwich’s 6-0 rout of Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup in midweek could do wonders for the hosts.
NORWICH VS LEICESTER: TEAM NEWS
Brandon William's loan deal from Man Utd took a while to get over the line, but he started in the cup tie and should be in contention again on Saturday. Winger Przemyslaw Placheta is still unavailable as he recovers from Covid-19, but Christoph Zimmermann is back in contention though, following injury. Also, new signing Christos Tzolis touted as a 'wunderkind', scored twice on his debut on Tuesday night, but is expected to start from the bench at the weekend. Farke is expected to put out his strongest XI against the Foxes with Pukki leading the line.
Meanwhile, against West Ham, Brendan Rodgers named the same starting line-up from his side's 1-0 win over Wolves in a season opener. Ryan Bertrand is unavailable because of the positive Covid-19 test, but on a more positive note for Rodgers, Castagne is fit after his eye socket injury and Maddison has recovered from a back issue. Jonny Evans though remains sidelined. Rodgers admitted he has not rested Jamie Vardy enough recently, but he’s undroppable even though he hasn’t scored in any of his last 11 Premier League away games.

Norwich aim to give fans something to cheer about, but they face yet another uphill task on Matchday 3. Norwich may well find it hard to hit the back of the net against Leicester who we reckon will just have the edge. They've got an unfortunate history of matches against Norwich but we expect them to overcome it. With that in mind, we reckon that it will be a tight game but expect Leicester to win nonetheless as our BettingKick Norwich vs Leicester prediction.
