DON’T EXPECT 90 MINUTES OF ENTERTAINMENT
After slumping to a 17th-placed finish last season, Nottingham have begun this season in similarly uninspired form (D1, L4), falling to their longest winless start to a Championship campaign since 2010/11. Whilst positives can be found from picking up their first point of the season last time out, the pressure begins to build at the City Ground. Thankfully for their fans, some new faces have joined up over the international break as manager Chris Hughton looks to turn his side’s fortunes around starting here. In contrast, Cardiff only registered their first defeat of the season last time out (W2, D2, L1) with the Welsh club’s inconsistent, yet solid, start to the campaign continuing. The ‘Bluebirds’ have play-off aspirations this time around and a push could begin with a win here if they can justify their pre-match favourites status.
FOREST HOPING NOT TO FLOP AGAIN
The Reds have endured a very difficult period at the start of the Championship campaign with them having lost all four of their opening league games. Hughton’s side did manage to prevent themselves from falling to a fifth straight defeat by coming from behind to earn a point late on in their trip to rivals Derby County last time out. Brennan Johnson’s goal late on at Derby needs to now be the turning point in Nottingham’s season with them finally getting a point on the board.
It is understandable why supporters have been feeling frustrated with Forest’s performances so far this term, with them not really able to release the shackles and take the game to their opponents in the first month of the season. The second-half display at Derby showed that there is still some fight left in the players though and that needs to be the catalyst to improve results. They really need to pick up a win against Cardiff to relieve some of the pressure because the stadium could really turn if they are to suffer another defeat this weekend.
MOORE MAGIC TO HELP MIC McCARTHY'S MEN
Cardiff have had a mixed start to the season, with the Bluebirds currently ninth in the Championship. There will be an expectancy for the Welsh side to push for a top-six finish, as experienced boss Mick McCarthy knows exactly what it takes to be successful at this level. Nevertheless, it’s going to be tough, as the Cardiff chief hasn’t exactly been backed in the market due to the current situation, but he will feel he has a competitive start. Two wins from the first five prove that, although it’s clear improvements are required.
After plenty of speculation surrounding the big man, Kiefer Moore ended the window as a Cardiff player after Wolves’ bid fell short of the Bluebirds valuation. Now, the challenge for the boss is to get the target man back to his best. A return of one in five isn’t good enough, particularly as he hit 20 in the previous campaign. he's been forced to self-isolate during the international break which means he'll be fit and raring to go come Saturday.

Nottingham have gone over 2.5 in three of their last five games but, equally, two of the last three have been south of that all-important cut-off mark. Cardiff have also seen two of their last five come in south of 2.5. We know these aren't particularly convincing stats but they're not totally the other way and then you have the head-to-head factor in - the last five meetings have all been under 2.5 as have eight of the last 10. That's where the value is for our BettingKick Nottingham vs Cardiff prediction.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
