Barnsley
2 - 2
QPR host Barnsley at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium (London) in the 4th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, August 21. Read our reasons for QPR vs Barnsley prediction and betting tips.
QPR LOOKING TO BUILD ON BACK-TO-BACK WINS
The Hoops made a flying start to the season with victories over Hull (3-0) and Middlesbrough (3-2) and it is no wonder the odds for home win have been dropping as they are yet to taste defeat. Even though midfielder Moses Odubajo is out of contention through suspension, we believe that home win should be considered. The Tykes, on the other hand, have been having their ups and downs at the start of the season, with the team sharing the spoils with Cardiff, beating Coventry while losing to Luton. Barnsley are not regarded as good travelers, and given QPR’s thrilling start to the season, the visitors could return home empty-handed.
MARK WARBURTON HAS SIGHTS ON TOP SIX
QPR are a fine side on an upward curve and you'd be brave to bet against them sticking around in the area of the table in which they currently reside after their impressive, unbeaten start. In Chris Willock and Ilias Chair, they have two tricky and gifted operators, and Lyndon Dykes has the nous and quality to keep centre-halves on their toes. They have Charlie Austin to call on, too, the striker making his return from injury from the bench at the Riverside.
The Rs have now won seven points from the opening nine available to them after winning 3-2 at the Riverside Stadium. And QPR had to do it the hard way too on Teesside, where they fell behind to Uche Ikpeazu's seventh-minute penalty and they also had defender Moses Odubajo sent off four minutes into the second half. Nevertheless, Warburton’s side came out on top and now sit third in the Championship, only behind league leaders West Bromwich Albion on goal difference.
BARNSLEY MUST BE MORE CLINICAL
As for Barnsley, on a cool summer's evening, Barnsley came up short to lose their first game of the 21/22 Sky Bet Championship campaign, succumbing to Amari'i Bell's fourth-minute strike. The visitors were happy to soak up the pressure and clear their lines, occasionally having joy on the counter, and with the Reds unable to show any kind of clinical edge, the Hatters left Oakwell, for the third year running, with all three points.
The Reds squandered a host of chances in both halves as they searched for an equalizer. However, head coach Markus Schopp couldn’t fault the effort of his players - it was just one of those frustrating evenings in front of goal. However, he insisted Barnsley need to be more ruthless in the final third and take their opportunities when they come. Next for them is a trip to the capital, which has been a happy hunting ground for Barnsley recently, with impressive victories on their last two visits and Schopp is hoping for similar this weekend.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
