Steven Gerrard’s side Rangers hosts Olympique Lyon this week for a match in Round 1 of Europa League 2021/22 in Group A. The match will kick off at Ibrox Stadium (Glasgow) at 8 pm (UK) on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Read our reasons for the Rangers vs Lyon match prediction and betting tips.
After winning the championship last season and successfully defending it this season, the Rangers have been performing admirably. The team, on the other hand, is ready to face the Rangers on Thursday and come out on top. So far in Ligue 1, the team's performance has been satisfactory, as it now occupies the 7th position with 8 points after five games. However, it was pleased to defeat Strasbourg 3-1 last weekend, which was the team's second victory of the season.
Lyon has only met the Rangers three times in their history, which isn't that extensive. The most recent one occurred in the Club Friendlies in 2020. In European football, Rangers face Lyon in the first round of the UCL group stages, a match that ends in a 3-0 victory for the Scottish club. In the second game, though, Rangers had their just desserts, falling behind 3-0 at the Ibrox Stadium.
