After more than decent EURO for both teams, Sweden and Spain turn their attention to qualifiers for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Read our reasons for Sweden vs Spain prediction and betting tips.
Sweden had a great match against Spain at EURO, a goalless draw was merited for the Vikings and their highly fighting spirit that prevented Spain from scoring in that match. Sweden didn’t change anything after the tournament, they are still capable to win against any side as they are very organized and tough to beat. The last line is formed from veteran players and played many games together, they have very experienced goalkeeper Olsen that had a wonderful tournament. Midfield is formed from a great group of tactically advanced players that are ready to create mainly from direct passes to attackers and strong on the set pieces.
Forwards are different, as Isak is more of a central striker, Kulusevski could be a winger as in Juventus or attacking midfielder as in the national team. They are both fairly with high ratings for dribbling and finishing one on one with goalkeepers. Sweden began their qualifiers in March with a 1-0 victory over Georgia, with Viktor Claesson's goal. A few days later their defeated Kosovo 3-0 with goals coming from Augustinsson, Isak, and Sebastian Larsson. These victories as important to guarantee them at least a playoffs spot as a second-placed team so the matches against Spain could decide a winner of this group.
Sweden: Olsen; Lustig, Lindelof, Helander, Augustinsson; Larsson, Olsson, Ekdal, Forsberg; Isak, Kulusevski
Spain had more than a decent tournament. They are not such a great team as with Xavi and Iniesta generation but they showed some quality football and strength at the tough moments. Games against Croatia and Italy were unique, something to remember for young players that got their chance under national coach Luis Enrique. He tried to make several changes and give younger players minutes on the pitch, to gain valuable experience before the next WC. And to be in Qatar in 2022 they must be first in this group that looks easy on paper but tricky at times. Spain won at Georgia on March 2-1, with Dani Olmo's goal that came just in the 90th minute. Victory against Kosovo looked much easier but after a two-goal advantage at halftime, at one moment they conceded and looked shaken. Gerard Moreno's goal for the final 3-1 in 75th minute eased the finish for the Spain team that then went to give EURO winners Italy a hard time in semifinals loss just after the penalties.
Spain is trying to reshape the team to be at their maximum for Qatar. Until then, some of the players could be retired as Busquets but he is still very valuable connecting defense and attack. They look to the future and Enrique showed he is ready to experiment in many ways to found a new formation, shape, or player that could be a potential starter. Guys like Torres, Morata, or Moreno one day will be in starting lineup, in the next struggling for minutes as the coach believes that good rotation is key to consistency. Defensive partnership Laporte – Garcia is strengthened by Azpilicueta on the right, who can play as a central defender or a right-back so attacking-minded left-back Gaya could transform to wing player as much as possible. Spain is in the good shape and will be an important team in world football as in past.
Spain: Sanchez; Azpilicueta, Garcia, Laporte, Gaya; Busquets, Koke, Rodri; Torres, Morata, Moreno

It could be very difficult for both teams to score a goal as was in the EURO. A goalless draw is the closest outcome of this game, but as football is unpredictable, we prepared an easier betting option. BettingKick’s Sweden vs Spain prediction is: Under 2,5 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
