After a very bad EURO adventure, Turkey turns to qualifiers for the WC Qatar, and a match against Montenegro could be crucial to increase their level of confidence and battle against the Netherlands and Norway. Read our reasons for Turkey vs Montenegro prediction and betting tips.
Three lousy performances at EURO, and Turkey have to erase memories from matches against Italy, Switzerland, and Wales and continue to fly high in qualifiers for the next World Cup. They started brightly with two wins against Netherlands and Norway but a 3-3 draw at home against Latvia shaken their chances for the top place in this group at the end of the campaign. Miodrag Radulovic's team, without Jovetic and a dozen other players, will visit Turkey in their toughest match so far in their group. After wins against Latvia and Gibraltar, Montenegro was defeated against Norway 1-0 at home. Tough matches are expected in September, the two most difficult at the beginning of the mini-cycle, because the Netherlands away is the next after Turkey, so a very difficult situation due to injuries and other circumstances, as covid protocols. Problems are nothing new for Montenegro, they are used to it. This group lacks creativity and quality, but they will try to fight for every ball. They could be dangerous at set-pieces but Turkey should win with ease if score on time. Just a few players had one training in Podgorica, some joined the team in Istanbul, so they will have just one easy training together and a longer video session before the game.
