Serie A champions started the season in an empathic fashion, winning the first match 4-0 against Genova. Can Inter continue in the same way on Friday when they visit Verona? Read our reason for Verona vs Inter prediction and betting tips.
Eusebio Di Francesco debuted on Verona’s bench with defeat. Ex-Sassuolo coach lost 3-2 the game against his former club, but overall performance was satisfying and cornerstone for upcoming matches. Without Kevin Lasagna, Marco Davide Faraoni, and Kevin Ruegg, Nikola Kalinić hold the role of the lone striker in Verona and his header hit the crossbar early. On the other side, Sassuolo punished the first big mistake of the host defense as Giacomo Raspadori picked a perfect pass from Filip Djuricic and calmly slotted past Ivo Pandur. Just before half-time, Portuguese veteran Miguel Veloso made a big mistake, got his second yellow card for a late tackle, reducing Hellas to 10 men.
Sassuolo made a double distance at the start of the second half as Djuricic scored after Francesco Caputo's assist. The home team proudly didn't surrender, Zaccagni showed pieces of something he did last season. Verona midfielder was brought down by Jeremy Toljan and then converted a penalty to make this match more interesting. Sassuolo had all the answers, Junior Hamed Traore scored their third goal after a nice move from Boga and his strike that finished in the far corner. Zaccagni scored another goal for the final 2-3. That wasn’t enough for a point but good enough to give courage to coach Di Francesco that he and his staff are on the right path. Di Francesco knows that after two bad seasons he had in Sampdoria and Cagliari he doesn’t have room for a mistake.
Inter Simone couldn’t dream a better start’ after defeating Genoa 4-0 on the debut for a new coach Simone Inzaghi. Edin Dzeko and Hakan Calhanoglu made an immediate impact after arriving this summer so Conte, Lukaku, and Hakimi departures didn’t reflect on the pitch at the moment. Inter was confident from the start, players showed enthusiasm, were eager to demonstrate why they are champions. Fans were back in the stadium and Calhanoglu who came from Milan scored one and assisted, just as an ex-Roma captain Edin Dzeko. They lead the squad in the absence of suspended Argentian Lautaro Martinez and it is to see how Inzaghi will transform this team from a counter-attacking approach to a more attacking and more pass dominant style.
Everyone played well but it is reasonable to believe that Inter will be busy in the remaining days of the transfer market. It is unclear if Joaquin Correa will be ready to play on Friday after joining Inter from Lazio, but he will be a great addition as he worked several years for Inzaghi in Lazio. There are some rumors that Davide Bellotti will join Inter from Torino but that could mean that some of the players will also leave the club. Romelu Lukaku’s departure left a big hole to fill but with all these players arriving and healthy Lautaro, they still have a good and big roster. Alexis Sanchez, Roberto Gagliardini, and Christian Eriksen are out of the team with long-term injuries.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
