YOUNG BOYS VS MAN UTD: STATS & FACTS
Young Boys have lost their previous two European matches against United, losing two group stage matches in the 2018-19 season. Young Boys featured in the UEFA Champions League once previously, finishing bottom of the table in the group stage in the mentioned season. Their first match in that campaign was at home to the Red Devils, losing 3-0. Also, damningly, in all European competition, Young Boys have only won one of their eight matches against English opponents (D1, L6). as for United, they have lost six of their 10 Champions League matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjær (W4) – as many as they lost in 20 games in the competition under Louis van Gaal and José Mourinho combined but should have no problem to see off the Swiss.
YOUNG BOYS VS MAN UTD: PRE-MATCH TALK
Young Boys lost out to Midtjylland in a qualifier last term but are back at Europe’s top table after coming through three hard-fought rounds this season. Home wins were the key to their progress, with Slovan Bratislava and Ferencvaros both beaten 3-2 here either side of a 3-1 victory over CFR Cluj. The USA forward Jordan Siebatcheu netted in two of those triumphs and has also started well in the Swiss League, so he looks a threat up front. Fellow loan star Vincent Sierro has also been contributing goals from midfield and it would not be a surprise to see the hosts get on the scoresheet. However, they lack experience in some key areas, so anything but an away win will be an upset.
As for Man Utd, they netted four times over the weekend, easing to victory at the expense of Newcastle. Cristian Ronaldo's second Premier League debut with Man Utd went according to the plan as the talisman bagged a brace. The Red Devils will be hoping for his magic to ring true on September 14 as they being their Champions League campaign against Young Boys. The Premier League side faced Young Boys in the group stages of the 2018/19 Champions League campaign, winning both games and conceding zero goals in the process, and given the gulf in quality between the two teams, United should secure another three points on Tuesday night.
YOUNG BOYS VS MAN UTD: TEAM NEWS
Young Boys are without no fewer than five players for the welcome of Man Utd. They will be without experienced midfielder Fabian Lustenberger, Cameroonian forward Jean-Pierre Nsame, and young striker Joel Monteiro. There are also doubts over the availability of French left-back Jordan Lefort and midfielder Esteban Petignat. Aebischer's double against Zurich on Saturday could see the 24-year-old feature in midfield, but there are expected to be a couple of changes from the weekend.
On the other hand, Scott McTominay and Edinson Cavani are both classed as doubts, though the former may be saved the meeting with West Ham on Sunday. Marcus Rashford, Alex Telles, Dean Henderson, and Phil Jones all sit out Tuesday's clash. Jesse Lingard netted from the bench against Newcastle but is unlikely to secure a starting spot here. A very similar side could take to the field for the second successive match despite the relatively quick turnaround.

Man Utd paid the price for two away defeats when failing to qualify from last season’s Champions League pool so will be fully focused on this trip. The good news is that the Red Devils enjoyed a 3-0 win over Young Boys in Berne three years ago and despite being at home Young Boys are underdogs against their rivals and with good reason. We expect their two-match losing streak to continue against the visitors, who remain unbeaten in this campaign.
