Arsenal host Brighton at the Emirates (London) in the final 38th round in the Premier League and the match kicks off at 4 pm (UK) on Sunday, May 23. Read our reasons for Arsenal vs Brighton prediction and betting tips.
Arsenal have finished the season strongly with four straight wins but will fall well short of their pre-season ambition of a top-four finish. The highest they can finish is seventh but would need Leicester to beat Tottenham and Man City to beat Everton, as well as beating Brighton themselves. Brighton will be high on confidence after coming from 2-0 down to beat champions Man City in midweek. They currently sit 16th but could finish as high as 13th with three points here and other results going their way. However, they have only won one of their last seven away from home.
Stitching together their longest winning league run (W4) since early 2018/19, Arsenal can yet claim the dubious honour of a Europa Conference League place in what has been another disappointing Premier League season for them. With just 25 of 58 points coming at the Emirates this season, it’s obvious where the Gunners have fallen down. Indeed their nine competitive losses here in 2020/21 is their worst home record since 1929/30, and their most home league defeats (7) since 1992/93.
However, Arsenal showed how keen they are to close the campaign on a high note when bagging two late goals in Wednesday’s 3-1 win at Crystal Palace. Nicolas Pepe’s first-half opener was cancelled out by Christian Benteke just after the hour mark but Gabriel Martinelli restored the lead in stoppage time. Pepe then added his second as the Gunners stayed in the race for Europa Conference League qualification. It was a crucial moment as they would want to go into the final day having every chance to be in Europe next season.
As for Brighton, a superb come-from-behind 3-2 win against champions Man City in midweek - their first victory this season after conceding first - means Brighton have the chance to claim their highest-ever top-flight placing (14th) with a win here. With 28 of their 41 points this season coming in 2021, confidence should be high. They have knocked off Leeds and Man City in their recent run, although both wins came at home. However, despite their improvement, Graham Potter's men remain unconvincing on their travels.
Having already secured safety, Brighton have played with a certain freedom in recent weeks and are unbeaten in four of their last five Premier League matches. However, the Seagulls have lost three of their last four away matches and were beaten 2-1 by an out of sorts Wolves team in their previous fixture on the road. On the other hand, coming off of a thrilling victory over newly-promoted champions, though, they should have their moments at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal meet Brighton looking to complete their first league double over the Seagulls since the 1980-81 campaign. Indeed, the Gunners have won just two of their seven meetings with Brighton since the Seagulls were promoted to the Premier League (D2, L3). While Brighton are likely to find the net on Sunday, the Gunners have momentum right now and should earn the maximum points here.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
