This year's FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea will kick off at 5.30pm (UK) on Saturday 1 August at Wembley Stadium in London.
The event will be held for the 139th time, for those who are interested in history of the cup. Arsenal are the most coveted club in this competition, with more wins than any other team (13), and Chelsea are in third with eight wins. This will also be a repeat of the 2016/2017 final, where Arsenal won 2-1.
Heading into this match, Arsenal can be satisfied with their recent form as they beat Liverpool and Manchester City, probably the best two teams in Europe in a span of few days. However, their defeat to Aston Villa meant that they missed the Europa League spot through the league, which leaves them only this last chance to qualify with a win in the cup. Unlike Arsenal,
Chelsea have secured the place in the Champions League group stage, with a 2-0 win against Wolves, and have already started boosting their team for the next season with the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and possibly Kai Havertz. But, with a possible move of Willian to Arsenal, Frank Lampard will have problems with the team selection ahead of the game.
ARSENAL VS CHELSEA MATCH ANALYSIS
After a disappointing season in the Premier League, Arsenal can still claim a European place if they win in their record twenty-first FA Cup final. The Gunners will have a chance to avenge the last season's humiliating defeat to Chelsea (4:1) in the Europa League final. So far, they have met Chelsea twice in the FA Cup finals, and have a perfect head-to-head record in those matches.
Biggest task for Mikel Arteta would be how to steady that error-prone defence, but it must be said that their 3-4-3 formation has improved their performances dramatically. Aubameyang and Pepe have developed an effective goal-scoring partnership. Without Mesut Ozil there is an emphasis on Pepe to be creative, force the defense to lose shape and to deliver the final ball. If Arsenal can open the scoring on Saturday their chances to win will be far greater, as they have won each of their previous four rounds of this year's competition when they netted first.
For Frank Lampard, it's been a fairly successful season. Qualifying for the Champions League and winning a domestic trophy would be a great start to his top-flight managerial career. He will face an attacking dilemma on Saturday, as to which players to field against Arsenal's 3-4-3. Most likely he will opt for Pulisic, Giroud and Willian, since Tammy Abraham pace is more suited to counter-attacking football.
The Blues also scored first in their five FA Cup matches this season and in thirteen of their last fourteen wins in all competitions, so when the two teams face each other on Saturday, first goal will likely be the key to whoever lifts the trophy.

After the season ended on Saturday, there are still a few spots to be filled. We are yet to see who will the third promoted team, and after the FAC we'll know the final European berths. Tottenham and Wolves will be interested in the outcome as well, since the final European spot will be decided after this match. If Arsenal win, Wolves will be out of the equation, and the Spurs will play the second round of EL qualifications . If Chelsea win it, Wolves will qualify from the seventh place.
Arsenal will head into this match as outsiders, although their history in the competition would suggest otherwise. However, they haven't lift any silverware since their last FA Cup win three years ago, and not qualifying for Europe will be a huge blow for them. Frank Lampard will also fancy his chances of silverware in his first season at the helm. The odds will be in favour of whoever scores first, but the FA Cup is famed for drama and unpredictability, so both teams have the same chances of lifting the cup.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
