Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates (London) in the 15th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 5.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, December 26
ARSENAL VS CHELSEA MATCH ANALYSIS
With only four of their fourteen league matches won, and eight of them lost, Arsenal remain in the 15th place with 14 points, after their latest 2-1 defeat against Everton in Liverpool on Saturday. They have now scored only four goals in their last ten league matches and are without a win in their last seven Premier League matches (D2, L5). Arteta will hope to end the negative run when they host their capital city rivals, who have bounced from back-to-back defeats on the road against Everton (1-0) and Wolves (2-1) and celebrated against West Ham (3-0) at the weekend to go 5th in the standings with 25 points.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he has no plans to walk away from his job and feels he has the support of the club after Arsenal have dropped to 15th in the table and slumped to their worst start to a season since 1974/75 season. The Gunners must take their chances against their London rivals Chelsea to end their rough patch of games and start climbing the table. Even though nobody really imagines Arsenal in a relegation fight, the lack of results and a poor league position are reasons for serious concern.
As for their latest league defeat, the Toffees took the lead after 22 minutes through Holding’s deflected shot, but Arsenal were level 10 minutes before the break when Nicolas Pepe scored from the spot. However, the Gunners conceded again on the stroke of half-time when Yerry Mina headed home from a corner. The Gunners were without their star player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but that should not be an excuse for an alarming lack of urgency and discipline they once more showed in the match.
Frank Lampard, on the other hand, made some changes at the weekend after back-to-back defeats in the previous two rounds. Neither Kai Havertz nor Timo Werner is performing well enough, though only the former was likely to be dropped. Frank Lampard said after the Wolves match that his Chelsea players may be suffering from fatigue after the hosts came from behind to beat the Blues in added-time. He rested Girou, Havertz, and Kovacic against West Ham and the team responded with a lively performance.
Two consecutive losses had seen the Blues slip down the table but they made the ideal start on Monday as Thiago Silva headed home in the 10th minute. Tammy Abraham, back in the side in place of Olivier Giroud, then scored his sixth (78’) and seventh goal (80’) of the season in the span of two minutes to give Chelsea a somewhat flattering victory as West Ham were a better side for large periods. They visit the Emirates next hoping to rekindle their early-season form against the struggling Arsenal.

In their 43 head-to-head matches, Chelsea (W22) have more than twice as many wins as Arsenal (W10). Arsenal last won against the Blues in the FA Cup Finals in August, but lost this corresponding fixture last season (1-2) and draw at Stamford Bridge (2-2).
As for the weekend match, Arteta insists that there is unity in the dressing room and that atmosphere is as good as it can be given the circumstances. But after netting only three times in their past seven league matches and being without a win at home in the last five games (D1, L4), he cannot really afford another hiccup against Chelsea.
The Blues started this month being talked about as potential title contenders, but losses to Everton and Wolves had seen them drop down the table and desperate to rediscover their early season form. Timo Werner continues to frustrate after failing to score in his eighth game in a row, and an ankle injury to left-back Ben Chilwell against the Hummers was a minor blemish on the evening for Lampard, who also has right-back, Reece James, out with a knee problem.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
