ARSENAL VS CRYSTAL PALACE MATCH ANALYSIS
Arsenal come into this match on the back of a four-game winning run. Their most recent PL win was a 0-4 win at West Brom, while they also defeated Newcastle 2-0 in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday. The recent good form has seen them climb to 11th in the league with 23 points ahead of Thursday’s match. As for Crystal Palace, they have won only one of their last seven matches (D3, L3) in all competitions and are visiting the Emirates after a 1-0 win against Sheffield Utd in the league and a 1-0 defeat to Wolves in the FA Cup Round 3. They are in 14th place and could leapfrog the host with an improbable but, not totally impossible win.
Mikel Arteta was pleased after they recorded three league wins on the trot for the first time since November by putting four in the Baggies’ net on January 2. Defeat at Everton on 19 December left them only four points above the relegation zone after 14 games - their worst start to the season since 1974-75. But fortunes changed with a surprise victory over Chelsea, which has now been followed up by two more wins on the road. In the league. Mikel Arteta has got Arsenal out of their slump and it has coincided with giving some of his younger squad members the chance to prove their worth. The likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli have taken the bull by the horns and turned Arsenal’s fortunes around. In their Saturday’s FA Cup clash, Arteta asked the youngsters to do exactly what they had done in those successes over Chelsea, Brighton, and West Brom, after some impressive displays in the Europa League, and they responded with another solid display.
The Eagles, on the other hand, had had a difficult run of games where Roy Hodgson’s men were five matches without a win (D3, L2). The two terrible defeats against Liverpool (0-7) and Aston Villa (3-0) left the Eagles wary of the relegation threat, meaning another consecutive defeat could have sent them on a downward spiral dangerously close to the red zone. Fortunately for them, they bounced back against hapless Blades. After five games without a victory, this was a welcome return to winning ways for Roy Hodgson's Palace with the highlight undoubtedly being the Eze's exceptional second goal of the season. However, they did get knocked out of the FA Cup at Wolves, which is only the second time they went out at this stage in consecutive seasons as a top-flight club since the 1990/91 and 1992/93 campaigns. Now they return to their Premier League duties with a London derby awaiting in midweek.

The Gunners are winless in their last four Premier League matches against Crystal Palace (D3 L1), their longest winless run against the Eagles in the top-flight, while the Eagles are unbeaten in their last two at the Emirates (W1 D1). However, Crystal Palace have registered just five wins in 47 previous matches against Arsenal (D14 L28) in all competitions and could be considered as underdogs here.
Arsenal have conceded at least once in each of their last 11 Premier League home games – their worst run since season 1993/94 and on the other hand, Crystal Palace kept their first clean sheet of the season against the Blades since their opening day victory against Southampton.
Arsenal are looking to win four consecutive Premier League games for the first time since October 2018 and we think they can continue their winning streak.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
