Arsenal host Liverpool at the Emirates (London) in the 30th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Saturday, April 3. Read our reasons for Arsenal vs Liverpool prediction and betting tips.
The Gunners head into this match on the back of a 2-1 win against Tottenham in the north London derby and a 3-3 draw at West Ham before the international break. Arsenal managed to move up one place in the table into ninth with that point at the London Stadium, but the Europa League arguably represents their best chance to play continental football again next season. On the other hand, Diogo Jota rekindled Liverpool's Premier League top-four hopes with the winning goal on his return to Molineux in a game that ended with a worrying head injury to Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio. The win sees the Reds climb to seventh, three points behind West Ham in fifth and five off Chelsea in fourth.
Last time out, the Hammers raced into a three-goal lead at London Stadium through Jesse Lingard, Jarrod Bowen, and Tomas Soucek, who touched in a Michail Antonio header. At 3-0 down, Arsenal looked almost certain to lose further ground in the race for European places. But forward Alexandre Lacazette headed a late equaliser after own-goals from Soucek and Craig Dawson set up an unlikely comeback. Arteta was full of praise for his side's second-half performance, declaring it the best they have played all season.
A defeat would have opened up a 10-point gap between the two sides and arguably ended Arsenal's hopes of qualifying for European competition through a top-six finish. And while questions will be asked about their poor first-half performance, Arteta will take heart from his side's superb reaction against a disciplined West Ham. Especially having in mind that they face former champions, Liverpool, who are on the up after back-to-back wins against Leipzig in the Champions League and Wolves in the PL.
As for Liverpool, it is hard to fathom why the Reds have lost six of eight top-flight fixtures since securing impressive 3-1 wins at Tottenham and West Ham. Jurgen Klopp must just keep his fingers crossed that the form shown in a couple of triumphs over Leipzig and Wolves will continue. Salah and Sadio Mane grabbed the midweek goals in Budapest, but the return of Fabinho to a midfield holding position and Jota getting on the scoresheet against his former club were other significant features before the WCQ break.
Fabinho’s presence, in the absence of captain Jordan Henderson, gives Liverpool a far more comfortable look and frees up Thiago Alcantara to control play in this crucial area. The Reds currently sit seventh in the table, five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but still have time to climb back up into the Champions League spots. Liverpool are unlikely to run riot, as they did when crushing Gunners 3-1 at Anfield in mid-September. However, a win here is not out of the equation against inconsistent Arsenal.

No fixture in Premier League history has seen more goals scored than Arsenal vs Liverpool (166). 94 of these goals have been scored by Liverpool, the most goals the Gunners have shipped against a single opponent in the competition and we expect another goal-fest here.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
