ARSENAL VS MAN UTD MATCH ANALYSIS
After playing Southampton twice within three days, Arsenal are out of the Fa Cup after a 1-0 defeat at the St. Mary’s, but got their revenge on Tuesday, as they won 3-1 at the same stadium in the Premier League. After their fifth Pl wins in 6 matches (D1) Arteta’s side have moved up into 8th in the standings ahead of a weekend clash with second-placed United. As for Man Utd, they failed to stay top of the Premier League with a 1-2 defeat at the Old Trafford against Sheffield Utd in midweek. The loss put an end to the fourteen-game run without a defeat since November 1 in the top-flight (W11, D3).
Arsenal are in a much better place than they were a month ago. The Gunners are winning football matches, playing well while keeping clean sheets. Mikel Arteta has got Arsenal out of their slump and it has coincided with giving some of his younger squad members the chance to prove their worth. Following a run of seven league games without a win in November/December, the Gunners have won five of their last six (D1), shipping just two goals in that run and scoring 13.
When they were held 1-1 by Southampton at Emirates Stadium on 16 December, Arteta's side were 15th in the table and trailed the Saints by 10 points. This time around, the Gunners made light of Aubameyang’s absence as they continued their excellent run of league form by coming from behind to beat the Saints in an eventful game. Saka once again showed why he is being touted for a big future with an energetic performance, which he capped with a fine finish, while Granit Xhaka and Lacazette also created goals. This latest impressive win lifted them above Ralph Hasenhuttl's side and up into the eighth spot, five points off a top-four position.
Man Utd, on the other hand, were top of the table at this stage of a campaign for the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson era and will feel this is the right time for another assured display after a blip on Wednesday. Rashford, Pogba, and Bruno Fernandes, arguably their best player this season, are flying at the moment, but the jury is still out whether United are genuine title contenders.
In midweek, bottom-bound Blades caused a stunning upset with a Premier League victory over title-chasing United at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side needed three points to regain the top spot from Manchester rivals but were lacklustre for large periods of the contest. On seven previous occasions this season, Solskjaer's United had come from behind to win a league game and they looked on course to repeat the trick when Maguire headed in against his old club. But recovering a deficit time and time again is unsustainable throughout a season and their luck finally ran out.

Arsenal have won their last two Premier League matches against United, last winning three in a row in September 1998, while Man Utd are winless in all four PL games against Arsenal under Ole Gunnar Solskjær (D1 L3).
Arsenal are looking to record a Premier League double over United for only the fourth time and will be encouraged by the fact that United are unbeaten in 17 Premier League away games, their joint-longest run without defeat on the road in their top-flight history.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
