ARSENAL VS WOLVES MATCH ANALYSIS
Arsenal, with 4 of their 9 league matches won, and four of them lost, are sitting in the 12th place with 13 points, after their first draw of the campaign against Leeds last weekend (0-0). They have now scored only one goal in their last five league matches and have not had back-to-back wins since the first two fixtures of the season. Their form is patchy at the moment and will face another top-six contenders Wolves on Sunday. As for Wolves, they were unbeaten in four games (W3-D1) before losing to Leicester (1-0) before the international break. Since then, they have picked up one more point, from a home draw against the Saints (1-1) last weekend. Wolves have accumulated 14 points so far, which has been enough for 9th place in the standings.
For all of Mikel Arteta's plaudits, the Gunners have still lost four of their last seven PL matches and are in the bottom half of the Premier League standings ahead of this match. They have failed to score in four of their last five games and only scored a penalty in the other. They need to keep on making progress if they are to secure a top-four finish. For that reason, Arteta is likely to field the best possible side for the Wolves game.
Against Leeds, most recently, it was a huge positive for the Gunners to hold on for a point with 10 men on Sunday, but there is concern over their current form. They were below par at Elland Road even before Nicolas Pepe was shown the red card. Also, their performance in their last game before the international break - a 3-0 home loss to Aston Villa - was hugely disappointing. It is why some are now questioning Arteta and his set-up for the first time since he took over last year, but he will hope he can turn things around when his men face Wolves.
Wolves, on the other hand, have upped their form recently. After losing key players Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota to other Premier League clubs, it took Wolves a little time for new players to ease in. While stars like Raul Jimenez continue to shine, youngsters like Pedro Neto and Max Kilman have established themselves in the first XI. However, Wolves are yet to score more than twice in a Premier League match so far this season, with the bottom two sides Burnley and Sheffield Utd, the only other sides yet to do so.
After the international break, their performances have faltered a little, and a draw against Southampton feels frustrating despite the comeback. While Nuno Espirito Santo deployed an unfamiliar back four due to Conor Coady's absence because of a coronavirus – he will be in the squad for Arsenal, there was also a lack of urgency to their attack until they fell behind. They should be able to get something from their visit to the Emirates, but the fact that they have failed to score in the first 45 minutes in 34 games since the start of last season, does not flatter them.

Arsenal have lost just one of their last 19 top-flight meetings with Wolves (W13 D5), while Wolves are winless in their last nine away league games against Arsenal (D4 L5).
The Gunners will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Wolves and to move a little closer to the Champions League berth, but they are without suspended winger Pepe, who was sent off against Leeds.
The Wolves, on the other hand, have had their ups and downs in the first half of the season, but they are definitely able to match Arsenal, as the Gunners do not seem to be at the top of their game at the moment.
