Aston Villa host Everton at the Villa Park (Birmingham) in the rescheduled 19th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 6 pm (UK) on Thursday, May 13. Read our reasons for Aston Villa vs Everton prediction and betting tips.
Despite a 3-1 defeat last time out, Aston Villa (11th) continue to chase their best top-flight finish since 2010/11 (9th). One victory in seven at Villa Park will be a concern though (D2, L4), but Dean Smith’s men have at times been their own worst enemy. On the other hand, they have scored the opener in three successive home matches (D1, L2). Meanwhile, Everton's only defeat in their last six was at home to Villa. However, they should be confident of picking up three points in midweek given their form away from Goodison Park this season. Only Man City (42 points) and Ma Utd (40) have picked up more points in away league matches than Everton (36) in the Premier League this season.
Dean Smith is preparing for a Thursday’s clash with Everton as Aston Villa's Achilles heel was yet again exposed by Man Utd in Monday’s defeat at Villa Park. For the third successive fixture between the two sides, it was United who were awarded another penalty. That very decision was the turning point on Sunday afternoon as Villa surrendered an advantage for the third game on the bounce at Villa Park (Man City, West Brom, United). Nevertheless, defensive mistakes amongst Aston Villa players this season may prove too costly.
At Everton last week it was Ross Barkley who lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin for his header. Ezri Konsa was sloppy against Albion to get them back into it while, the week before that, Matty Cash was caught out from Ederson's long ball against Man City. The list of errors has totted up in recent months with another three playing out at Villa Park on Sunday with Douglas, Tyrone Mings and Cash at fault for United's three goals. Villa remains in the bottom half ahead of their four-game run-in before the season concludes.
As for Everton, the Toffees ground out yet another gritty away win by a solitary goal, picking up three potentially huge points at rivals for Europe, West Ham, owing to Dominic Calvert-Lewin's 21st strike of the season. Everton had been on a disappointing run in the Premier League claiming just their second win in their last eight Premier League games, but three points at the Olympic Stadium have boosted their hopes of having Europa League football for the first time since 2017/18.
With men pulled behind the ball, the Blues successfully frustrated Moyes's side in the final few minutes and comfortably held out for an 11th away win that moves them to within three points of the Hammers with a game in hand. Carlo Ancelotti's first win in seven attempts against David Moyes proved to be a huge one as Everton once again throw themselves back in the mix for European football. If the Toffees don’t stumble in the remaining four games, then they have a great opportunity to finish the season on a high.

Aston Villa meet Everton having previously lost three and won two of their last five home league games against the Toffees. Following their 2-1 win against them at the start of the month, Aston Villa are looking to do the league double over Everton for the first time since the 2000/01 campaign.
Aston Villa have won more Premier League games (20) and scored more Premier League goals (73) against Everton than they have against any other side in the competition, but we expect Everton to keep it tight and looking to capitalise on Villa’s mistakes.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
