Aston Villa host Fulham at the Villa Park (Birmingham) in the 30th round of the Premier League and the match kicks off at 4.30 pm (UK) on Sunday , April 4. Read our reasons for Aston Villa vs Fulham prediction and betting tips.
Aston Villa are on a four-game run without a win (D2, L2) and are sat in the middle of the table (10th) coming into the season’s 30th week. When last they saw action, they were dealt a 2-0 blow at the Villa Park by Tottenham. Manager Dean Smith admitted that his side lacked quality in the final third, and they will be looking to make up for it against the Cottagers now the international break is over. Meanwhile, Fulham are inching closer to relegation as they remain at 18th in the table after the London club fell to Leeds at Craven Cottage (1-2) last time out. Manager Scott Parker was frustrated with Leeds’ control of the game, as his side missed the chance to move out of the Premier League relegation zone with a third defeat in four games.
This season, Villa’s pride are hunting the established League heavyweights. Signings such as Bertrand Traoré – a player who reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last year, as well as Morgan Sanson, who played six times for Marseille in the same competition this year, have strengthened the club’s sights. Add to this Champions League winning John Terry’s influence at the training ground, the scent of European blood is in the air at Villa Park.
Taking into consideration the dramatic improvement from last year, Villa fans have plenty to shout about. However, a growing concern at Villa Park is the side’s inability to salvage a result. Given how Villa have only managed to win one of their previous six league games and score just three goals in the process, it shows how badly they’ve missed Grealish who was involved in 16 Villa’s goals this season. Moving forward, everyone at Villa will be hoping that he has used the two-week’s break to fully recover and get back up to full speed for Villa’s match against Fulham.
As for Fulham, Parker’s side sunk to a dispiriting 2-1 home defeat on Friday to a mid-table Leeds team that went into the game with just one win in five games, to consign the Cottagers to a second successive home defeat and keep them rooted in the bottom three. A victory would have taken Fulham out of the relegation zone ahead of the international break and heaped pressure on Newcastle and Brighton, who sit directly above them in the table and face off at the Amex Stadium on Saturday evening.
Fulham now have eight games to determine their fate, including daunting away trips to Manchester Utd and Chelsea. The Cottagers appeared doomed early in the season but a recent revival gave them the opportunity to move to safety for the first time since December - a win would lift them above 17th-placed Newcastle. Unfortunately, this third defeat in four games means the momentum of their previous five-game unbeaten run may have gone.

Aston Villa welcome Fulham having previously lost just one of their last 17 home league games against the Cottagers (W9, D7). They are also looking to complete their first league double over Fulham since the 2009-10 Premier League campaign, following their 3-0 win at Craven Cottage earlier this season. On the other hand, Fulham are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League away games, the longest such run in their top-flight history.
A lot of it will depend on Grealish’s fitness for Villa as they aim to get back to winning ways and push for the top-six, while Fulham just can’t afford to lose much more points from now on.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
