Atletico Madrid, who were not in action in the first two rounds, play host to Granada in the opening match of the season.
Los Rojiblancos are on a quest to close the gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona, and, no doubt, they are likely to go all guns blazing at los Granadinos. The club chiefs did well to keep hold of key players in the summer transfer window, with both Alvaro Morata and Yannick Carrasco signing permanent deals with the capital club. Los Granadinos, on the other hand, outplayed the likes of Athletic Bilbao and Alaves at home in the first two games of the season, but seeing that they often struggle on the travels, we are tempted to put our money on Diego Simeone’s troops. It has to be noted that Atletico Madrid recorded 12 wins at home in the 2019/20 La Liga campaign. Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious.
