Winning sides from the first Bundesliga round, Augsburg and Dortmund will meet in an interesting match at the WWK-Arena on Saturday.
Headers from Ruben Vargas and Michael Gregoritsch helped earn a clinical Augsburg all three points at Union Berlin, in a match where the home team had a better share of the ball in the first half. Their lack of concentration at the back let Vargas meet Raphael Framberger's cross to head Augsburg in front with their first meaningful attack five minutes before the break. Vargas scored his first Bundesliga goal against Union last season, on Matchday 2. Union once again started better in the second half and the pressure from Union paid off as Marius Bülter met Christopher Lenz's cross from close range to draw level. Gregoritsch headed in Iago's cross to restore Augsburg's lead before Hahn turned the ball in the net in the closing stages for the final 3-1 win. Gregoritsch scored just one goal all season in 2019/20.
Florian Niederlechner scored two of his team-leading 13 Bundesliga goals in last season's fixture. Augsburg led Dortmund 2-0 and 3-1, only to end up on the receiving end of a 5-3 defeat in what was one of the standout games of the campaign. With ex-Union goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz installed between the posts, experienced Daniel Caligiuri taking up a position on the right-hand flank, and forward Michael Gregoritsch brought back in from the cold following a misfiring loan stint with Schalke, Heiko Herrlich began his first full campaign as Augsburg coach with a success. Injury-ravaged striker Iceland international Alfred Finnbogason - who hit double figures in 2017/18 and 2018/19 - was involved in the second half, and he is waiting for more minutes in the next match because forwards Noah Sarenren Bazee and Marco Richter are still unavailable. Augsburg has conceded more Bundesliga goals against Dortmund (48) than any other Bundesliga club.
Herrlich spent nine years at Dortmund as a player, winning two Bundesliga titles.
Augsburg: Gikiewicz - Framberger, Gouweleeuw (c), Uduokhai, Iago - Caligiuri, Khedira, Gruezo, Vargas - Gregoritsch, Niederlechner
Doubtful: Löwen (knock)
Out: Bazee (match fitness), Moravek (muscular), Richter (ankle)
Coach: Heiko Herrlich
Erling Haaland scored twice after Gio Reyna opened his Bundesliga account as Borussia Dortmund eased to a convincing 3-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach in front of 9,300 fans at Signal Iduna Park. Thorgan Hazard lasted just 15 minutes after a hamstring injury but Reyna took the control and showed his class to score his first Bundesliga goal five minutes later, slotting Jude Bellingham's pass into the far corner of Sommer's goal. Bürki save from Stefan Lainer has been enough of a warning that their one-goal half-time lead was a slender one and after Ramy Bensebaini misjudged tackle Norwegian slotted the ball from the penalty past Sommer to score first of many in the new season. Haaland scored his first penalty in the Bundesliga. Whenever the Norwegian has scored, Dortmund has won (nine times). Haaland has 15 goals from his first 16 Bundesliga games. Only Uwe Seeler scored more (16) in his first 16 Bundesliga appearances. He doubled his account after Sancho assist at the dying moments of the match.
Club captain Marco Reus, who is being steadily reintroduced into the first-team following a seven-month absence through injury can expect to make a third successive appearance off the bench. Raphael Guerreiro has returned to team training and should slot straight back in for the injured Thorgan Hazard on the left flank.
Dortmund: Bürki - Can, Hummels (c), Akanji - Meunier, Bellingham, Witsel, Guerreiro - Sancho, Reyna - Haaland
Doubtful: -
Out: Hazard (muscular), Morey (thigh), Piszczek (back), Schmelzer (knee), Schulz (calf), Zagadou (knee)
Coach: Lucien Favre

Tradition and playing styles from both teams suggest that goals are by far reasonable bets. Over 2,5 goals are our main bet but also both teams to score and over 3,5 goals are expected.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
