Augsburg takes on Freiburg on Saturday, with both teams struggling to find a win for some time.
Augsburg showed great resilience in their 1-1 draw against UEFA Champions League participants Borussia Mönchengladbach last Saturday, with Daniel Caligiuri snatching a late equalizer despite Raphael Framberger's rapid second-half dismissal off the bench. Caligiuri is Augsburg's leading scorer this term with three goals; he only scored two for Schalke all season in 2019/20. Having missed the Hertha Berlin defeat with injury, Framberger will be suspended against Freiburg, meaning freshly Poland international Robert Gumny keeps his place at right-back.
Heiko Herrlich is expected to stick with most of the players who started at the Borussia-Park, although he may shuffle his pack in the attack, with Andre Hahn and Alfred Finnbogason vying for a place alongside Florian Niederlechner. Hahn, who scored a late brace when Augsburg beat Mainz at the end of October, could get the nod with the Iceland striker not yet at 100 percent, while Vargas and Caligiuri should provide a threat from out wide. This fixture has never produced a 0-0 draw in the 30 previous Bundesliga meetings.
Augsburg: Gikiewicz - Gumny, Gouweleeuw (c), Uduokhai, Iago - Caligiuri, Khedira, Strobl, Vargas - Niederlechner, Hahn
Out: Bazee (knee), Framberger (suspended), Jensen (ankle), Moravek (thigh)
Doubtful: Gruezo (cold), Pedersen (muscular)
Coach: Heiko Herrlich
Freiburg has been known for exceeding expectations in recent years, but Christian Streich's side has struggled to get going this season, failing to win since the opening day. They head to Augsburg on a run of three consecutive defeats and sitting just two points above the relegation play-off place. Freiburg is without a win in seven games following their Matchday 1 victory over Stuttgart. They have used fewer players this term (20) than any other team.
Nicolas Höfler is expected to be restored to midfield in place of Lino Tempelmann, but the game will probably come too soon for right-back Lukas Kübler, who has been suffering from a groin injury. Nils Petersen and Lucas Höler will shoulder goalscoring responsibilities, with the former out to add to his four-goal tally. Petersen netted his fourth goal of 2020/21 last time out, making the 31-year-old Freiburg's top scorer. Head coach Christian Streich has a positive record against Augsburg, winning six and drawing five of 15 league games against them.
Freiburg: Müller - Schmid, Lienhart, Heintz, Günter (c) - Sallai, Santamaria, Höfler, Grifo - Petersen, Höler
Out: Flekken (elbow), Haberer (ankle)
Doubtful: Abrashi (not included), Kübler (groin), Kwon (not included)
Coach: Christian Streich

Both teams are incapable to provide goals so under 2.5 goals looks like a reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
