Four years after the night that will always be remembered, La Remontada, Barcelona fans hope for the same against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 match at Camp Nou on Tuesday evening. Read our reasons for Barcelona vs PSG prediction and betting tips.
Barca had a rollercoaster season up till now, with many ups and some surprising defeats, that involved a 3-0 loss at home to the Italian giants Juventus. That was their first defeat in 39 Champions League home matches — after beating them in Turin and picking up a pair of wins against both Ferencvárosi and Dynamo Kyiv, that give them second place in the group.
The last time these teams faced off, Barcelona won 6-1, registering an aggregate 6-5 win. There are just a few signs we may see such a huge scoreline again but there is a guarantee of entertainment and passion in this clash. Two teams confronted each other at the transfer market recently, with Neymar coming to Paris and now there are some rumors that Messi will join him in PSG shirt in the summer. On the other side, the Catalan powerhouse is trying to persuade Brasilian to make a sensational come back, but that is less possible after information about their financial problems. Barcelona returned to winning ways, beating Alaves 5-1 after their 2-0 loss to Sevilla. They now have four wins in five matches, and seven in 10.
Long-term absentees Ansu Fati, Gerard Pique and Philippe Coutinho, Sergi Roberto can't help Koeman's side. Sergino Dest is back in the team, so the Dutch coach will have at least one right-back available. Ronald Araujo is still unfit after a sprained ankle, with Samuel Umtiti's possible return in starting 11. Pedri and Ousmane Dembele should return to support Messi and Antoine Griezmann in attack despite Trincao's brace on Saturday vs Alaves.
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Dest, Umtiti, Lenglet, Alba; Busquets, De Jong, Pedri; Dembele, Messi, Griezmann
PSG booked their place in the knockout stages with three successive wins after a rough start in the groups. Then led by Thomas Tuchel, the Parisians recorded victories over RB Leipzig and İstanbul Başakşehir, with the most important win coming at the Old Trafford, expelling Manchester United out of the last-16.
PSG is on four straight wins as they head to this game but they have been hit by injuries to key players. The Parisians have been decent in defense and have three clean sheets in the last four games. Their last match against Nice, which they won 2-1, shows they must fine much better offensive rhythm, despite their attacking stats. PSG have now scored two or more in four of their last five matches. Three of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they have eight wins in the last 10 games. PSG reached the Champions League final for the first time last season and are aiming for a trophy once again.
Neymar's adductor injury ruled him out for potentially both legs but he is not the only major unavailable player as Angel Di Maria's at Le Classique is worse than expected. Moise Kean demonstrated part of his qualities at right-wing against Nice and should keep Spaniard Pablo Sarabia out of the team. Draxler, Mbappe, and Mauro Icardi are certain for starting XI but some doubts are over the involvement of Marco Verratti. Dagba, Pembele, and Bernat are unavailable in the defensive department and Pochettino will have a last-minute decision regarding the right-back position, with Florenzi and Kehrer battling for that spot.
Paris Saint-Germain: Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Kurzawa; Gueye, Paredes; Kean, Draxler, Mbappe; Icardi

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
