Barcelona will be looking to kick off the new La Liga campaign in style when they host Villarreal at their Camp Nou on Sunday.
Despite his public desire to leave the club, Leo Messi is still part of the Catalan outfit, and, no doubt, all eyes will be on the Man City target when Barca face the Yellow Submarine. Big-money signing Miralem Pjanic is likely to make his La Liga debut this weekend, as well as pacey winger Trincao, who joined Barcelona from Braga. Ronald Koeman is set to lead the Catalan giants into a new era, but Lionel Messi is still at Camp Nou despite widespread speculation surrounding his future. Messi informed Barca that he wanted to leave the club this summer before ultimately reversing his decision, and the Argentine is expected to take to the field this weekend. Barca will be without the services of Martin Braithwaite in the early stages of the season as the forward picked up a quadriceps injury in a training match after Saturday's 1-0 win over Elche in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
After dropping two points in a 1-1 draw with Huesca, Villarreal defeated Eibar 2-1 on Matchday 2. The Yellow Submarine are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but seeing that they often struggle on the travels, we are tempted to put our money on Ronald Koeman’s troops. Martin Braithwaite misses the season opener with injury, while Arthur and Ivan Rakitic left the club in the summer transfer window. Villarreal finished fifth in Spain's top flight last term, but they will be looking to close the gap on the top four this season, and it will be very interesting to see what transpires in the coming months. Emery's team have been relatively busy in this summer's transfer window, signing the likes of Francis Coquelin, Dani Parejo and Takefusa Kubo, while a £15m deal for Watford's Pervis Estupinan was announced earlier this week. El Submarino Amarillo will be desperate to pick up all three points this weekend.

We are not saying Villareal is a weak team, no they are strong. Just Barcelona is too strong for them, and even it is on their home ground, so for us winner is clear in this match. With more than 1.5 goals.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
