BARNSLEY VS BOURNEMOUTH MATCH ANALYSIS
The Tykes experienced all sorts of problems against Brentford (0-1) and Blackburn (2-1) in their back-to-back defeats, before putting out a strong performance in midweek against Birmingham in their 1-2 away win, as they broke their habit of putting in much better performances at home than on the travels. Nevertheless, they have been in decent form overall recently, picking up five wins in their last eight matches (W5-L3) As it is, they are in 13th in the standings with 19 points, ahead of the Friday match with the Cherries. As for the visitors, they fell to Preston at home on Tuesday (2-3), which is only their 2nd defeat of the season (W7-D6-L2). In spite of the loss, they remain 2nd with 27 points. The Cherries were unbeaten in the league until round 10 when they lost to Sheffield Wed, the last team in the table at the time (1-0), but have picked up three wins and a draw since then. They will look to avoid another defeat against Barnsley and will aim for their 3rd away win in this campaign.
After miraculously escaping the relegation on the final day of the last season, the Tykes have started this new campaign in the same vein, as they had been sitting near the relegation zone for a while. However, the signs have been encouraging for them lately, as the Tykes have been beaten only three times in their last ten games (W5-D2-L3). After appointing Valerien Ismael as their manager, they picked up back-to-back wins twice and will be looking to repeat the feat after they won at Birmingham.
The Tykes secured the win on Tuesday with Woodrow's penalty and Callum Styles' deflected winner.
In an uneventful match, Blues went in front with their only effort on target, but the game was turned on its head in the last 20 minutes of the match as Valerien Ismael’s man completed the comeback, which puts them within only seven points of a play-off spot.
When it comes to Bournemouth, If there was any uncertainty surrounding the Cherries at the start of the new campaign, which made it very difficult to predict how their season will pan out, it seems like it has gone now as Bournemouth have started the season on the front foot. In any case, it's too early to get carried away, but in any scenario, they should at least contest for one of the play-off spots. They will look to bounce back from their first home defeat of the campaign against Preston.
On Tuesday, Bournemouth missed the chance to go top of the Championship despite a late comeback. They were down three goals when the hosts set up a tense finale with Stanislas’ free-kick and Surridge’s header, but the visitors held on for the win. Bournemouth remain second but are level on points with third-placed Bristol. The Cherries paid for their mistakes in the game, and if they had more time, they would have probably grabbed the equalizer. However, they will have to amend for it against Barnsley.

Barnsley and Bournemouth have played only four matches so far, the last being in 2013, with Barnsley still looking for their first win (D2-L2).
Valerien Ismael has enjoyed a positive start to his time in the Barnsley dugout and believes the confidence of his players is growing day by day.
One player to watch is a 20-year-old Styles, who, Ismael believes, is an excellent prospect for the Reds after hailing his match-winning effort against Birmingham.
The Cherries want to make amends for their defeat to Preston, with the promotion-hopefuls eager to secure an immediate return to the top division. However, they need to keep on making progress if they are to finish the campaign in the top two, as they are wildly inconsistent at the moment. Two games ago they were brilliant, but Saturday and Tuesday they were poor. It’s a hard team to judge but they do need to start stringing performances together as someone will make a break at the top soon.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
