Barnsley host Millwall at the Oakwell Stadium (Barnsley) in the 33rd round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 3 pm (UK) on Saturday, February 27. Read our reasons for Barnsley vs Millwall prediction and betting tips.
Barnsley are currently 8th in the league table, one point behind 6th placed Cardiff City, who have played a game more. Valerien Ismael's side have been one of the better teams in the Championship this season, and have won their last four league games, beating Stoke 2-0 last time out. If they play their cards right, Barnsley could make it into the top-most tier following the weekend games. As for Millwall, the Lions are 11th in the standings as their nine-game unbeaten league run continues (W4, D5) with the midweek’s draw at Luton (1-1). The Lions have found consistency and are one of the in-form teams in the second division and their current position is majorly due to their bad performances earlier in the campaign.
The Tykes have indeed improved vastly under the Frenchman, putting some distance between themselves and the relegation zone. Barnsley have left behind their little purple patch in the Championship – in the weeks after the turn of the year, Barnsley's promising form under Valerien Ismael started to unravel, creating the prospect of the remainder of the campaign being spent in mid-table.
However, four successive victories for the loss of just one goal have changed the club's trajectory, however, and they will now feel that they can challenge for the play-offs. Sitting just three points adrift of fifth-placed Reading with a game in hand, Ismael knows that the Tykes are within touching distance of becoming a major player in the promotion race, a remarkable change in fortunes after narrowly avoiding relegation in July.
On the other hand, Millwall visit the Oakwell on the back of the improved form, knowing that a win could lift them well into the top-half of the table. The Lions extended their unbeaten run in the League to nine matches but were left frustrated on Tuesday night as they were held to consecutive draws by basement side Wycombe and struggling Luton. A top-six charge still remains a distant thought, but Gary Rowett, having previously been on the brink of the sack, will be proud of the club's recent resurgence, arguably proving that he remains the right man at the helm in the long term.
The latest draw was Millwall's 16th from their 32 league outings in 2020/21, with the result leaving the south-east London club six points off the play-off places. On Tuesday, January signing Elijah Adebayo looked to have won it for the hosts after opening his Luton goalscoring account in the 55th minute. But Gary Rowett's Millwall are not renowned as the second tier's draw kings for nothing, and Evans salvaged yet another point with seventh of their last eight goals in the Championship scored in the final quarter.

Barnsley meet Millwall having lost one of their last eight league matches against Millwall (W5 D2). The hosts have a better overall record as well, having recorded 10 wins to Millwall’s 6 in their last 20 meetings in all competitions. However, Millwall are unbeaten in their last two away league games against Barnsley (W1 D1), keeping two clean sheets in the process.
While both Barnsley and Millwall will be eyeing maximum points in Yorkshire, the hosts will be sensing an opportunity to break into the playoffs and could show the extra ambition required to collect all three points. Therefore, the BettingKick’s Barnsley vs Millwall prediction is: Barnsley win

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
