The Europa League resumes this week as the round of 16 is finally completed – almost five months after it started. Six of the eight ties have second legs to be played while two fixtures are now one-off games. Basel are out to complete the job in their Europa League at home to German side Eintracht as the competition returns after lockdown.
The Swiss side holds a 3-0 lead from the first leg going to the Thursday game but they have a final match in their domestic league before getting to face Frankfurt. Basel will not win their domestic title once again this season; they are guaranteed to finish third though, which will be enough for them to play in the Europa League next season. Basel stormed to a 3-0 victory in the first leg and - barring any disasters - can look forward to reaching the last eight of the competition for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign. Basel managed to string together a six-game unbeaten. So they are in excellent form currently.
The Bundesliga side have it all to do in Switzerland and will have to regain their sharpness having been off-season for the last month. Frankfurt's Bundesliga campaign ultimately ended in disappointment as they finished ninth despite their strong end to the season. Overturning a 3-0 deficit in Basel's own backyard is certainly difficult, but not impossible, and Hutter will hope to see his side carry over the momentum from their strong end to the Bundesliga season when they make the relatively short journey to Switzerland on Thursday. Frankfurt have taken to the pitch just once since the Bundesliga season drew to a close, with Die Adler playing out a 1-1 draw with Monaco in a friendly on the first day of August.

Will be tight in the middle of the field. Since both teams have great potential with defend players. Basel goalkeeper Jonas Omlin - who has kept 16 clean sheets for the Swiss outfit across all competitions this season - has struggled with a hamstring issue recently and may not feature here.
Our prediction, win for the Basel and more than 2.5 goals for this match. In the end, we are positive it will be for sure interesting match to watch with a lot of action and determination from both sides.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
