The winner of the duel between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Saturday could determine whether the current league leaders or their closest challengers end Matchday 10 top of the table.
Bayern comes into the game two points clear of Leipzig, and - with their UEFA Champions League progress already assured - having had the luxury of resting not only Lewandowski but also Manuel Neuer for their midweek trip to Atletico Madrid. Neuer has kept 197 clean sheets in 414 Bundesliga games; an all-time best shut-out quota of 47.6 percent.
The heavyweight duo will return to Hansi Flick's starting XI, who'll be seeking to pick up a seventh win in an eight-game unbeaten Bundesliga run that has them in first place coming into the weekend's action. Lewandowski has five goals in eight Bundesliga matches against Leipzig but has failed to score in four of those. Bayern has earned 86 points in 33 league games under Flick so far, giving the 55-year-old the best record in league history at that period.
Joshua Kimmich returned to light training this week following his knee injury, but the Germany international remains on the sidelines, while Alphonso Davies (ankle) will join him in the stands. Corentin Tolisso may have to make way for Javi Martinez in central midfield with the Frenchman not fully recovered from a muscle strain.
Bayern: Neuer (c) - Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Hernandez - Martinez, Goretzka - Gnabry, Müller, Coman - Lewandowski
Out: Davies (ankle), Kimmich (knee)
Doubtful: Tolisso (muscular)
Coach: Hansi Flick
Leipzig's kept their European destiny in their own hands following a spectacular 4-3 win at Basaksehir on Wednesday. The new France international Dayot Upamecano will be in the visitors' backline again as Julian Nagelsmann tries to replicate the tactical masterclass that earned his team a point and a clean sheet on their last visit to Munich, the only game Bayern failed to win in their imperious march through the second half of the 2019/20 treble-winning season. Nagelsmann has picked up at least a point in five of his eight Bundesliga matches against Bayern (two wins, three draws). He has not lost against the Reds while in charge of Leipzig (two draws). Centre-back Upamecano has clocked the second-fastest sprint of any player in 2020/21 at 21.96 mph (35.34 km/h), second only to VfB Stuttgart’s Silas Wamangituka 22.00 mph (35.42 km/h).
Leipzig has had more shots (150), won more penalties (five), and won more challenges (1051) than any other Bundesliga team this term. After missing the trip to Turkey for personal reasons, Christopher Nkunku is available again, though Benjamin Henrichs (knee), Lukas Klostermann (knee), and Konrad Laimer (knee) are all sidelined.
Leipzig: Gulacsi - Konate, Upamecano, Halstenberg - Mukiele, Sabitzer (c), Kampl, Angelino - Olmo, Nkunku - Poulsen
Out: Henrichs (knee), Klostermann (knee), Laimer (knee)
Doubtful: Hwang (not included)
Coach: Julian Nagelsmann

It is hard to prove that some team has better chances to win in the Bundesliga match when Bayern is involved but the Bavarian giants will probably have a tough time to beat Leipzig. Nagelsmann team knows how to control the game flow and has brilliant balance from ball possession and playing counterattacking football. Both teams to score could be the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
