4 - 3
At the end of the very tough schedule but fresh from winning UEFA's Player of the Year award, Robert Lewandowski and Bayern Munich are looking to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga when they host Hertha Berlin on Sunday.
Bayern suffered their first defeat in 32 games against Hoffenheim last weekend. That was a marvelous run dating back to December 2019. The 4-1 loss was a shock for the fans, but not to weary Hansi Flick's side, tired of many games in a short period, and willing to move forward immediately. The treble winners quickly responded by beating Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday to win the DFL Supercup. After leading 2-0, they tried to close the game, Dortmund was on a brink of complete turn round but Kimich scored for a late 3-2 winner. A day later Lewandowski and Flick were named UEFA's Player and Coach of the Year respectively, adding more honors to the Bavarians' incredible season. Lewandowski is one goal away from 100 in the Bundesliga at the Allianz (all for Bayern in 97 games for the club). He got 19 in 15 matches last season, including a brace in the opening game against Hertha.
Bayern is without Leroy Sane, who has suffered a knee injury that will rule him out until after the upcoming international break. Having watched from the bench as his side overcame Dortmund in midweek, David Alaba should return to start once again in the center of defense with Alphonso Davies who claimed an assist against BVB. Lucas Hernandez will be competing for the left-back spot but also can help as a central defender. Manuel Neuer has kept 15 clean sheets in 21 Bundesliga games against Hertha, which is a league record he shares with Oliver Reck (15 in 25 games against Gladbach). Bayern has conceded in just one of their last six home games against the Berliners and hasn't lost any of their last 25 against the capital club in the league in Munich, going back to October 1977.
Bayern: Neuer (c) – Pavard, Süle, Alaba, Davies – Kimmich, Goretzka – Gnabry, Müller, Coman – Lewandowski
Out: Nianzou (thigh), Sane (knee)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Hansi Flick
With just two matches played Hertha fans may have already seen the best and worst from their side: the Berlin boys had a great opening of the season with their 4-1 win at Werder Bremen but also fell short with a 3-1 defeat at home to Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Getting points on the board in Munich vs Bayern is always the toughest task, but Hertha can take confidence from their trip to Allianz Arena last year, which saw them take a point in a 2-2 draw on the opening night of 2019/20. Hertha has claimed points in five of their last seven Bundesliga games against Bayern (W1, D4), which is the best return of any team in that period.
Dodi Lukebakio who scored in that game should continue in attack alongside summer signing Jhon Cordoba. Lukebakio has five Bundesliga goals against Bayern. Only Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus has more against them among current players. Cunha, who will be a part of the Brazil national team for the first time, will join them in the final third. Since signing in January, new Brazil call-up Cunha has been Hertha's top scorer with seven goals (and three assists) in 14 appearances. Arne Maier is out after suffering a fresh knee injury, while wingers Javairo Dilrosun and Mathew Leckie are doubts.
Hertha: Schwolow – Pekarik, Boyata (c), Torunarigha, Mittelstädt – Darida, Stark, Tousart – Cunha – Cordoba, Lukebakio
Out: Maier (knee)
Doubtful: Dilrosun (thigh), Leckie (neck)
Coach: Bruno Labbadia

Bayern is probably ready for another impressive display for their fans because the next match for them comes in 12 days. This could be a massive home team win because Hertha is very vulnerable defensively.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
