European champions Bayern Munich face Mexican side Tigres in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan on Thursday night.
Robert Lewandowski is out to fire Bayern Munich to a historic sextuple as they take on Mexican side Tigres in the FIFA Club World Cup final in Qatar on Thursday.
Bayern booked their place in the final with a decent 2-0 win over African champions Al Ahly in the semi-finals on Monday. Lewandowski got a goal in each half for the reigning European champions, who have their sights set on what would be their sixth title of the past year following their Bundesliga, DFB Cup, UEFA Champions League, DFL Supercup, and UEFA Super Cup successes. Lewandowski now has 29 goals in all competitions for Hansi Flick's side, who will be without midfield duo Leon Goretzka and Javi Martinez once again after the Bayern head coach confirmed they would stay in Munich, and not join up with the rest of the squad as previously planned.
Alphonso Davies started at left-back against Al Ahly and was a menace going forward down the left, so should retain his place ahead of Lucas Hernandez, while Corentin Tolisso is vying with Marc Roca for the central midfield berth alongside Joshua Kimmich. Bayern lifted the trophy for the first time in 2013, with Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, David Alaba, Jerome Boateng, and Martinez the only players still at the club since then.
Bayern: Neuer - Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies - Kimmich, Roca - Gnabry, Müller, Coman - Lewandowski
Out: Goretzka (not included), Martinez (not included), Nianzou (thigh), Nübel (ankle)
Doubtful: -
Coach: Hansi Flick
Whoever plays, Bayern will be the favorites, although Tigres should by no means be underestimated. The Mexican side earned their ticket to the Club World Cup after defeating Los Angeles FC in the CONCACAF Champions League final last December and progressed to the final in Qatar thanks to a 2-1 victory over South Korean outfit Ulsan Hyundai FC in the second round followed by a shock 1-0 triumph over South American champions Palmeiras in the other semi-final on Sunday.
Former France international Andre-Pierre Gignac is the team's danger-man-in-chief, and the 35-year-old has scored all three of his team's goals at the tournament so far. There will be a familiar face at center-back in Carlos Salcedo, who was at Eintracht Frankfurt for 18 months between 2017 and 2019, winning the DFB Cup final in 2018 against Bayern.
Tigres: Guzman - Rodriguez, Reyes, Salcedo, Duenas - Quinones, Pizarro, Carioca, Aquino - Gonzalez - Gignac
Out: -
Doubtful: Meza (knock)
Coach: Ricardo Ferretti

A team from the UEFA confederation has won the Club World Cup in 12 of the 16 editions it has been played to date. Should Bayern win, they will become only the second team in history to win the sextuple, after Barcelona in 2010. Bayern is the heavy favorite to win with the huge motive to match what the exceptional Barcelona side did a decade ago.
So, our final Bayern vs Tigres Prediction is Bayern to win.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
