Belgium meet Italy at the Allianz Arena (Munich) in the EURO 2020 Quarter-final clash and the match kicks off at 8 pm (UK) on Friday, July 2. Read our reason for Belgium vs Italy prediction and betting tips.
BELGIUM AND ITALY TO ADOPT PRAGMATIC APPROACH
Belgium eliminated defending champions Portugal from the round of 16 but it came at a huge cost as both star players Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne came off injured and could be ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. After a perfect group stage, Italy suffered their first gut check of the summer against Austria on Saturday. After failing to score in normal time, Italy eventually ran out 2-1 winners to set up their toughest challenge to date. Should Hazard and De Bruyne both miss out then Italy will be considered clear favourites on Friday night.
’NOW OR NEVER’ FOR BELGIUM’S GOLDEN GENERATION?
Belgium's 'golden generation' have been ranked the world's best for more than 1,000 days but they have no silverware to show for it - will Euro 2020 finally be their year? After winning all three of their pool games, Belgium faced a stern test of their resolve when tackling holders Portugal at the last-16 stage. However, Thorgan Hazard’s superb long-range strike approaching half-time put them in the driving seat and they held firm for a 1-0 success.
By knocking out defending champions Portugal in the last 16 the Belgians equalled their longest winning streak at major tournaments, winning five in a row for the second time under boss Roberto Martinez. With a squad packed full of talent they have never been better equipped to win a trophy as they set up a quarter-final tie with Italy. The world's highest-ranked side may have key holes to fill but again they have showed they possess the grit to complement their undoubted quality.
TIP 1: Third place at the last World Cup and a series of strong Nations League results helped Belgium top the FIFA rankings. Looking at the odds, we feel the Red Devils have the confidence and self-belief to score first here.
ITALY TO DIG DEEP TO PROGRESS
Roberto Mancini has embarked on an impressive rebuilding process as Italy boss since they failed to qualify for Russia 2018. The Azzurri made it 11 straight clean-sheet victories when cruising through their group and were expected to brush aside Austria. Marko Arnautovic had a goal chalked off by VAR for offside before Italy substitutes Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina turned things back around by striking in extra-time.
Roberto Mancini's Italy have been one of the standout teams at Euro 2020 but they struggled to repeat the form which earned them three straight group wins in what was their first match away from Rome. They were lacklustre after half-time and it was only when Mancini made changes that they finally got themselves in front. Mancini has got Italy believing again - but they will have to play better than this if they are to win the next match and reach the semi-finals.
TIP 2: Italy’s flaws will be noted by whoever faces them next but the bottom line is they won in a manner that will bolster confidence because they can be so much better. Our preference is for the Azzuri to win by any one-goal margin for our second Belgium vs Italy betting tip.

Belgium have already knocked out defending champions Portugal at Euro 2020 and may just be more battle hardened than quarter-final foes Italy. The Azzurri impressed with their energy and enthusiasm during the group stage but then laboured to an extra-time defeat of Austria. We reckon the odds for the Red Devils to reach the semis are good value for final BettingKick Belgium vs Italy prediction to be: Belgium to win.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
