The Serie A is back in action on Saturday as Benevento host an in-form Atalanta at the Municipal Stadium Ciro Vigorito.
Pippo Inzaghi said Benevento players are doing ‘special things’ after their 2-1 away win at Cagliari. The newly-promoted Serie A side is now five points off a European placement. Benevento celebrated a second consecutive away victory for the first time in their Serie A history, sending Cagliari spiraling into crisis. VAR was involved several times early on, disallowing a Leonardo Pavoletti goal and revoking a Benevento penalty. Radja Nainggolan made his ‘debut’ for the Sardinians in his third stint at the club and almost scored a remarkable lob from midfield. Joao Pedro pounced from close range on a Leonardo Pavoletti header to put Cagliari in front, but Le Streghe fought back with native Sardinian Marco Sau against his former club. Moments later, they turned it around entirely with Alessandro Tuia in off the inside of the post.
Benevento boss Inzaghi will most likely retain his favored 4-3-2-1 set up, with Daam Foulon expected to cover the absence of injured Gaetano Letizia - although forward Riccardo Improta filled in at full-back last time out. In addition to Letizia, fellow full-back Luca Caldirola and forwards Iago Falque and Gabriele Moncini are also unavailable due to injury. Experienced striker Gianluca Lapadula - who has failed to score since November - should still start up front, with Roberto Insigne and Gianluca Caprari in support. A goalscorer at the weekend, Marco Sau could find himself starting on the bench.
Benevento (4-3-2-1): Lorenzo Montipo; Federico Barba, Daam Foulon, Kamil Glik, Alessandro Tuia; Riccardo Improta, Pasquale Schiattarella, Perparim Hetemaj; Roberto Insigne, Gianluca Caprari; Gianluca Lapadula
Gian Piero Gasperini said Atalanta approach Serie A games differently and praised Luis Muriel as La Dea is unbeaten in the last six Serie A games after a 3-0 win over Parma. It took 15 minutes to find a breakthrough, as Josip Ilicic won a tackle in midfield and immediately found the inspired through ball. Luis Muriel controlled with his right foot and scored with his left. It was the Colombian’s fourth consecutive Serie A game on target, a new personal best. Duvan Zapata replaced Muriel for the second half and scored within three minutes, meeting another Ilicic assist to shrug off defenders and drill beneath the goalkeeper from eight yards. There was also an assist for Duvan Zapata, whose flick took a deflection off Hernani, allowing Robin Gosens to burst through the middle and blast in. Joakim Maehle made his Serie A debut and nearly scored, forcing a save from Luigi Sepe, while Aleksei Miranchuk’s header skimmed the woodwork.
Gasperini welcomes Cristian Romero back into his three-man Atalanta defense, with Jose Luis Palomino most likely to make way. The Nerazzurri coach should continue with in-form Matteo Pessina and Josip Ilicic in support of the lone frontman - most probably Zapata returning from the start. Mario Pasalic is still unavailable through injury, while captain Papu Gomez will not be considered for the squad and could leave in the coming days.
Atalanta (3-4-3): Pierluigi Gollini; Rafael Toloi, Jose Luis Palomino, Berat Djimsiti; Robin Gosens, Marten de Roon, Remo Freuler, Hans Hateboer; Matteo Pessina, Josip Ilicic, Duvan Zapata

Benevento is in fine form and they are well-coached but Atalanta is on the rise and close enough to be at their standards from the last season. Away win is the most preferable bet regarding this game.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
