After earning the point with Lazio on Tuesday, Benevento will be looking to put an end to their four-game winless run when they take on Genoa in another home fixture.
Benevento has not had a perfect season so far, they are fifteenth on the Serie A table, with three wins, three draws, and six losses. Benevento is currently on a four-match winless run, they’ve won just one of their last eight games, with two draws and five losses. Ciro Immobile scored a contender for Goal of the Season for Lazio, but Pasquale Schiattarella’s Benevento equalizer on the volley was worth watching too. It was all the Aquile in the first half of this derby between Inzaghi brothers Pippo and Simone, but Luis Alberto hit the woodwork, and chances were wasted to make it 2-0 after Immobile showed incredible vision and skill to wrap his leg around the defender and meet the Sergej Milinkovic-Savic cross. Instead, Schiattarella snatched an equalizer on the stroke of half-time to set up a more even second period. Schiattarella had been Man of the Match until his tackle on Tucu Correa earned him a straight red card.
The hosts will not be able to call upon the services of Luca Caldirola, who has been out of action for two weeks on account of a knee injury. Fellow full-back Christian Maggio is also out due to a calf strain. Pasquale Schiattarella was shown a direct red card for his foul on Correa in the dying moments of Benevento's draw against Lazio and will sit out this home game.
Benevento (4-2-3-1): Lorenzo Motipo; Federico Barba, Alessandro Tuia, Kamil Glik, Gaetano Letizia; Riccardo Improta, Artur Ionita, Perparim Hetemaj; Roberto Insigne, Gianluca Caprari; Gianluca Lapadula
Genoa has been one of the worst teams in Serie A this season, and they are eighteenth on the table, currently occupying one of the relegation spots, and are just one point ahead of last-placed Crotone, with a win, four draws, and seven losses from twelve games. Milan confirmed their resilience and spirit by fighting back from a Mattia Destro brace to draw 2-2 in Genoa with a Pierre Kalulu equalizer. It was the second consecutive four-goal thriller for the Rossoneri, whose lead at the top of the table has now been cut to just one point. Destro surprised his former club by pouncing on the rebound from Gianluigi Donnarumma’s save on Eldor Shomurodov’s strike. Davide Calabria hit a daisy-cutter to draw level, only for Destro to score again with his header from Paolo Ghiglione’s cross. On a late corner, Alessio Romagnoli knocked it down for Kalulu’s debut Serie A goal in his first league start.
Rolando Maran is expected to make the long trip to southern Italy without Goran Pandev, Federico Marchetti, Cristian Zapata, Luca Pellegrini, and Francesco Cassata. Captain Domenico Criscito was on the bench against Milan and is expected to start against Benevento. Davide Zappacosta has also started training but this fixture comes a bit too soon for him.
Genoa (4-4-2): Mattia Perin; Andrea Masiello, Mattia Bani, Edoardo Goldaniga, Paolo Ghiglione; Nicolò Rovella, Stefano Sturaro, Milan Badelj, Lukas Lerager; Gianluca Scamacca, Marko Pjaca

Genoa showed some improvements lately and Benevento is struggling with creativity and scoring. Genoa not to lose is a decent bet here.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
