Newly-promoted Benevento solid season could continue on Friday night when they host struggling Torino who changed manager after the last match.
Pippo Inzaghi still can’t believe Benevento lost 4-1 to Crotone in a game where ‘we had 17 shots to three. It’s not the first time, either.’ It was an unexpected defeat, certainly to the extent of the scoreline, falling 4-1 to the team that was bottom of the table. “We need to get it through our heads that we can’t keep doing this. We waste too many scoring opportunities and we will be made to pay for it in Serie A. It’s hard to describe a match that went this way, because the result doesn’t reflect the overall performance, but it’s the result that counts. We were clear on goal five times in the first half, but Crotone went into our half twice and it was 2-0 at the break.”
Both Benevento and Crotone were promoted from Serie B last summer, but Le Streghe had been comfortably mid-table. “Maybe we can find our balance now because at the start everyone assumed we’d be relegated, then they were talking about us going into Europe. We have to ignore all the chatter around us and focus on taking it one game at a time. If we don’t stay concentrated and watch out for trouble, we could slide back into the danger zone within a couple of rounds.”
Hosts Benevento is set to be without several attacking options, as Marco Sau (suspended) joins injured Roberto Insigne and Gabriele Moncini on the sidelines. Midfield regular Pasquale Schiattarella and full-back Gaetano Letizia are also injured for Pippo Inzaghi's team, so Iago Falque and experienced defender Luca Caldirola could reinforce the starting XI. On-loan Gianluca Caprari is tipped to bolster the attack, but youngster Di Serio is fighting for his minutes along with Gianluca Lapadula upfront.
Benevento (4-3-2-1): Lorenzo Montipo, Riccardo Improta, Alessandro Tuia, Kamil Glik, Federico Barba, Perparim Hetemaj, Artur Ionita, Bryan Dabo, Iago Falque, Giuseppe Di Serio, Gianluca Lapadula
Torino has announced Davide Nicola as their new coach after the sacking of Marco Giampaolo. The Granata are involved in the race for Serie A survival with 13 points in 18 games. They picked up a 0-0 draw against a 10-man Spezia on Saturday and that was a final straw after series of bad results and in the last few games even performances. Davide Nicola wore the Torino kit in the 2005/2006 season, helping the Granata reach Serie A with his goal against Mantova in overtime of the playoff final. In 2010 he began his coaching career. Unforgettable is the challenge he accomplished with Crotone, with 20 points obtained in the last 9 matches, helping the club remain in Serie A. Another big accomplishment was made last season, helping Genoa avoid relegation.
Torino coach Davide Nicola for now will probably not change too much regarding personnel and formation. Wing-back Mergim Vojvoda is out injured, alongside forward Federico Bonazzoli - so Simone Verdi is the favorite to support Andrea Belotti in the attack, but if Nicola wants a more adventurous approach he will try again to partner Zaza with the team captain in the final third.
Torino (3-5-2): Salvatore Sirigu, Armando Izzo, Bremer, Alessandro Buongiorno, Wilfried Singo, Sasa Lukic, Jacopo Segre, Karol Linetty, Cristian Ansaldi, Simone Zaza, Andrea Belotti

It is hard to predict how will teams react after bad performances from the last weekend. Shock therapy in changing the coach could give some new energy to Torino, but still, they looked extremely bad in a match with Spezia. Both teams to score could be the most reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
