After they earned a valuable point at the start of the season promoted Arminia Bielefeld will try to achieve the first win of the campaign when Koln visits the Bielefelder Alm Stadium on Saturday.
Bielefeld had a little bit of luck in the premiere match because Frankfurt looked like the better side, da Costa missed a great chance after Kostic’s cross and after that goalkeeper, Ortega played the pass directly to Frankruft striker Silva but Bas Dost didn’t react well, his back-heeled attempt was saved by Ortega who recovered from the previous error. Martin Hinteregger directed a Kostic corner onto the crossbar at the start of the second half and Bielefeld was ready to punish the home side, Cebio Soukou made no mistake with his finish into the bottom corner after a beautiful transition. Frankfurt leveled within 10 minutes, Silva scored from the Dost assist. In the finish, Arminia held their priceless point back to Bielefelder Alm stadium.
Summer loan signing, Japanese Doan, was dangerous at the time, showing that he could be a constant threat in this league. The PSV Eindhoven-owned winger can roam frequently down the right-hand side of midfield to the pleasure of his coach Uwe Neuhaus who will be forced to make several changes. Starting full-backs Nathan de Medina and Anderson Lucoqui are probably out and that means that Cedric Brunner and Jacob Laursen are set to start.
Cordova (62 appearances) and Hartel (eight appearances) were the only players in the Bielefeld starting line-up with previous Bundesliga experience.
Bielefeld: Ortega - Brunner, Pieper, van der Hoorn, Laursen - Prietl - Doan, Soukou, Hartel, Cordova - Klos (c)
Doubtful: Lucoqui (concussion)
Out: de Medina (knee), Müller (muscular), Voglsammer (foot)
Coach: Uwe Neuhaus
Koln was ready to push for the good start of the 2020/21 campaign but they concede a goal inside four minutes at the RheinEnergieStadion when team captain Jonas Hector played a pass into Kramaric path who scored all goals for the away team. Sebastian Andersson who joined the club four days before, headed in a Jan Thielmann cross for an equalizer but Kramaric converted a penalty to give Hoffenheim another lead. Andersson scored 12 goals for Union Berlin in the last season. Another new signing from Berlin, Ondrej Duda tested Baumann with a curling effort that could only be parried into the path of Dominick Drexler, and the Cologne sub put his rebound into the side netting. It was Kramaric, who had the last say as he completed his hat-trick in injury time after great solo effort.
Ondrej Duda impressed on debut and Koln fans saw glimpses of a potentially great partnership between the two summer signings. That could mean a lot after the departure of last season's 13-goal leading scorer Jhon Cordoba. Koln’s second-best goalscorer in 2019/20 after Cordoba, was defender Sebastiaan Bornauw with six, and the Andersson-Duda duo must compensate that in this season. Koln has scored in each of their last 21 Bundesliga matches, which is the longest current run in the league. More problems could be on the other side of the pitch, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 league matches, last time back in February. Only Schalke have gone longer than without a shut-out - 13 Bundesliga matches.
Koln: T. Horn – Höger, Bornauw, Czichos, J. Horn - Skhiri, Hector (c) - Rexhbecaj, Duda, Thielmann – Andersson
Doubtful: -
Out: Jakobs (muscular), Kainz (knee), Schmitz (ankle), Modeste (knee)
Coach: Markus Gisdol

Bielefeld will need time to adjust to Bundesliga level after been promoted and it is easier for them now to play counter-attacking football. Koln still has great problems defending in transition but also posses great offensive power. Over 2,5 looks like a reasonable bet.

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
