BIRMINGHAM VS MILLWALL MATCH ANALYSIS
Birmingham are 17th in the standings with 15 points and had lost two games on the trot before the international break. The Blues showed they are no strangers to winning in rounds 8 and 9, but this time, they have picked up two away back-to-back draws – a goalless draw against Coventry and 1-1 against Luton in midweek. As for Millwall, the Lions are in 10th place with 19 points (W4-D7-L2) and after winning four in their first eight league fixtures they are now on a little barren run of five games without a win (D4-L1). They have gone into an international break with two back-to-back goalless draws, having not scored a goal in three consecutive games. They came back with two more draws at home against Cardiff and Reading, both ending 1-1.
The opening day win against Brentford ended Birmingham's barren run of 17 games without a win in all competitions. Sadly, it was the first of only three wins they recorded this campaign. Aitor Karanka's side has shown only glimpses of ambition and creativity so far, with a set-piece always looking their likeliest route to goal. Even though they are not losing that often, they desperately need points to build on their good defensive displays, which can, with a little bit of consistency, push them up the table.
Such issues were evident against Luton in midweek, but they remain six points clear of the relegation zone, four points adrift of Town, which is the only positive, apart from the performance of goalkeeper Neil Etheridge. The Blues will be aware that they haven’t lost three consecutive home league matches since January 2020. The hosts have claimed just five points from their last five games and will be determined to claim a long-awaited three points again to extend their buffer from the relegation zone.
When it comes to visitors from London, Gary Rowett has brought much-needed stability to this Millwall side, while still maintaining Millwall's typical aggressiveness with pressing and getting under the opponent's skin. They are still struggling for goals, but the foundations have been laid for them to build on their near miss with the play-offs last July. Historically, Millwall have not started seasons out of the blocks and now they have started on the front foot which bodes well for the rest of the campaign.
After two 0-0 draws on the road, another back-to-back draws at home will feel a little frustrating, but the performances were just not there. Against Reading, they could not hold to the lead when Wallace floated his right-foot free-kick up and over the wall into the top left corner and were punished eight minutes into the second half. They have not won a game in a month, and a win could take them closer to the playoffs berths once again, but a loss could see them sink into the bottom half of the table.

Both Adam Clayton and Zach Jeacock remain sidelined due to ankle injuries. Happily, for Blues fans, Kristian Pederson has made his return to the squad after being named as a substitute.
As for Millwall, the Lions have kept 11 away league clean sheets in 16 games in 2020, their most ever in a single calendar year, and are unbeaten in each of their last four away league matches against Birmingham.
Troy Parrott could start in attack again after being handed his first start on Wednesday since his loan move from Tottenham.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
