BLACKBURN VS BARNSLEY MATCH ANALYSIS
Blackburn are in the 10th place in the table after 13 rounds in the league, having picked up 18 points after their latest away win (3-1) at Preston in midweek. They are blowing hot and cold at the start of the season (W5-D3-L5), but are one the more entertaining sides to watch. They have netted three or more goals in four of their away wins this season, and the visitors will be in trouble if the Rovers are in the scoring mood again. As for Barnsley, The Tykes experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 0-1 loss to Brentford in midweek, as they broke their habit of putting in much better performances at home than on the travels. However, they have been in fine form overall recently, picking up four wins in their last six matches. As it is, they are in 14th in the standings with 16 points, ahead of their visit to Blackburn.
The Rovers have been in a free-scoring form so far and apart from Tyrhys Dolan, a young prospect from their famed academy, they now have another teenage prodigy in Harvey Elliot, who was signed from Liverpool on a season loan. However, he is doubtful for the weekend as he picked up a knock, and was substituted after only 20 mins on the pitch in Blackburn’s win against Preston. Apart from him, Manager Tony Mowbray will be without Holtby (illness), Williams, and Daniel Ayala.
Nevertheless, he will have more or less the same team that dominated in the Lancashire derby against Preston, as they continued their fine league form with a dominant win. With 25 goals from 13 games, Tony Mowbray's side tops the scoring charts in the Championship. The former Premier League champions have been inconsistent this season but on their day, they have what it takes to get a result against any team in the division.
When it comes to the visitors, after miraculously escaping the relegation on the final day of the last season, the Tykes have started this new campaign in the same vein, as they had been sitting near the relegation zone for a while. However, the signs have been encouraging for them, as of late, as the Tykes have been beaten only twice in their last nine games (W4-D3-L2). After appointing Valerien Ismael as their manager, they picked up back-to-back wins but were unable to hold off the promotion hopefuls Brentford in their last match.
On the night, Ivan Toney scored his 11th goal of the season to give the Bees a tight win. It was a game of few chances and Barnsley, who had won four of their first five matches under new boss Valerien Ismael, fielded the same 11 for the third consecutive game. German midfielder Mike-Steven Bahre and Welsh left-back Ben Williams, are both out due to injuries, and it is quite possible that Ismael will rotate his squad for Saturday’s match due to fatigue.

Blackburn have lost three of their last four league matches against Barnsley, while Barnsley have found the net in each of their last four away league games against Blackburn but have ended up losing on three occasions (W1 L3).
Blackburn will try to push for one of the play-off spots this season, and will surely set up to attack in Saturday’s football match. Armstrong, who has scored 15 times in his last 18 home league appearances for Rovers, will be their main go-to-guy for goals.
On the other hand, Barnsley’s eight away goals in all competitions this season have all been scored by different players, but they only have one away win so far in the league.
BettingKick’s prediction for Blackburn vs Barnsley match is: Over 2.5 goals
