BLACKBURN VS LUTON MATCH ANALYSIS
Blackburn have been blowing hot and cold recently and have not strung two wins together in their last eight games (W3, D2, L3) since December 2. Their match vs Swansea was canceled due to a waterlogged pitch, which gave them much-needed rest to regroup for the weekend ahead and push closer to the play-off berths with a 1-0 win at Middlesbrough last weekend. They are six points from the top-six in 9th ahead of the Luton visit. As for the Hatters, they come into this match on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Brentford Community Stadium and an FA Cup Round 4 exit at the hands of Chelsea in London, as well. They sit comfortably in 13th in the league and, with a bit more consistency, they could finish in the right half of the table.
Blackburn, a name which has been quite big in the English footballing scene for the past two decades, find themselves in the 9th spot with 36 points from 25 games played – a not so great record considering their excellent start to the season. The Rovers might seem to be struggling at the moment with 3 wins in 10 Championship games, but have shown their defensive prowess in the last few rounds, having consistently held the games below 2.5 goals in most of them (6/7).
Blackburn are the league's top-scorers (40) and with an in-form Armstrong and a Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliot at the heart of everything in the final third, they could prove too much for Luton’s defense. This weekend the youngster teed up Blackburn teammate Joe Rodwell midway through the second half, earning his side three points against mid-table rivals Middlesbrough — and earning himself an eighth Championship assist, along with his 4 goals.
Luton, on the other hand, managed to avoid relegation last season despite conceding 80 + goals, and if this time they can have more good days than bad ones, they shouldn't worry about survival. Of course, they were considered one of the most likely relegation candidates before the season started, but their performances are proving their doubters wrong.
On paper, January was supposed to be the toughest month yet for Luton Town, yet it has been quite encouraging thus far. A 1-0 win at high-flying Bournemouth, despite a 1-0 loss to Brentford, gives them much more breathing space ahead of their visit to Blackburn. A point here will be huge for the Hatters as they could go through their three away games relatively unscathed and well-clear of a relegation scrap.

After some very poor performances against Doncaster and Stoke, Tony Mowbray's men found a strange time to return to form with a gritty, hard-earned and resolute victory at the Riverside - as good an example of game management we’ve I've seen from Tony Mowbray. The ugly wins, not possible without a strong rearguard action, should be more present on the Rovers repertoire.
Luton, on the other hand, haven’t lost against Blackburn since a 4-0 defeat in the FA Cup in 2006/07 (W2, D1) and have shared the spoils in a reverse fixture in November (1-1). If the Hatters allow Rovers to do what Blackburn do well, just like they did against Brentford, they do not stand much chance on Saturday.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
