Blackburn host Nottingham Forest in the 5th round of the Championship at Ewood Park (Blackburn) on Saturday, October 17 and the match kicks off at 3pm (UK).
MATCH PREVIEW
After four rounds in the league Blackburn are in the 6th place in the table, having picked up 7 points after their defeat to Bournemouth (3-2) on the opening day from their two victories against Wycombe (5-0) and Derby County (0-4) and a most recent goalless draw against Cardiff. Notts Forest, on the other hand, are sitting at the bottom of the league in 22nd place and are yet to pick up their first points in this campaign.
MATCH ANALYSIS
Blackburn have put to bed their goalkeeper issues by signing Antonis Stergiakis on a three-year deal from Slavia Sofia as a number two to Thomas Kaminski who arrived in August. Rovers core players remained, Darragh Lenihan in defense, Ryan Nyambe at left-back, Lewis Travis in midfield and Adam Armstrong at the wing. They needed more players suited to Mowbray's 4-3-3, and in Tyrhys Dolan, a young prospects from their famed academy, they might have unearthed a real gem.
He has two goals in as many Championship appearances upon his debut in the first team and is one of the early-season success stories of Rovers' form so far. The Rovers have now scored 11 goals in their three Championship games this season - the most any side has managed in their first three league games this century. However, Championship top scorers had their strong early-season form checked with a goalless draw at home to 10-man Cardiff City. It was a frustrating afternoon for Rovers with both sides struggling to play with much fluency as torrential rain made for tricky conditions, but Mowbray's men will look to bounce back against bottom fodders Nottingham.
The visitors are in the 22nd, below the dotted line on goal difference, with four defeats from their first four Championship games. After missing the play-offs on a crazy final day in the Championship last season, Forest's start of the new campaign is unexpected and disappointing. Chris Hughton, their new manager after Lamouchi was sacked, will now have to go back to the drawing board for the Blackburn game as the Reds had scored only a solitary goal so far in the new campaign in their most recent defeat to Bristol (1-2).
Forest have failed to win any of their past ten matches in all competitions, losing the past six in a row, with Forest boss Lamouchi now a the first manager in the Championship to leave his post this season. It may, however be a double-edged sword for them as they will have to go through the whole rebuilding process again. Hughton said Nottingham Forest have everything in place to win promotion, despite a four-game losing run this season and a record of just three wins in 19 Championship games. We will have to wait and see how that one will pan out, but until then, they need to get their heads round and get ready for the Saturday's game.

Saturday's match will be the 15th match involving Blackburn and Notts Forest in the last ten years and the Rovers have a better winning record with 6 victories to Forest's 3 while another 6 head-to-heads ended with draws. Their latest match in January was won by Forest but they had to wait on that win for four and a half seasons.
Both teams have scored in 9 of those matches and they average 2.67 goals per match, where Blackburn scores 1.47 goals and Notts Forest averages 1.2 goals per match.
Will we see more of the same from Nothingham or can experienced new manager give them their first victory in the league since July 1? Can Blackburn continue their fine form after a drab draw against 10-men Cardiff?
My prediction for this match is: over 2.5 goals

Wyatt grew up in the suburbs of London and he is a big Chelsea fan. As a young boy, he found his love for football, which became an obsession, but when he tried playing it he soon realized that he just wasn't talented enough. Bearing that in mind, Wyatt decided to learn everything there is to know about all the teams and players, with special focus on Premier League and Championship . Wyatt has a big affection for Championship and he is well versed in all the teams and knows their advantages and weak spots very well. He is an economist, and being one makes him good with numbers and also good with the odds. His specialty are BTTS matches.
