Both Bologna and Spezia are hovering above the relegation zone ahead of their meeting at the Stadio Dall’Ara. Read our reasons for Bologna vs Spezia prediction and betting tips.
Sinisa Mihajlovic was again frustrated with Bologna’s inconclusive finishing after a 1-0 defeat to Roma. ‘It’s the same thing every week.’ The Rossoblu had the same old problems, namely, they created chances and failed to convert them, losing to a Borja Mayoral counter-attack on the stroke of half-time. “If you saw my interview last week, it’s the same thing. We create, we play well, we use up so much energy and go into the break 1-0 down. Unacceptable,” Mihajlovic told the media. “I cannot say anything more, because the lads did what they had to do, but it’s the same thing as the game before and the game before that and the game before that. Especially against the big clubs, we have more possession, more shots on goal, more chances, and no points. Compliments are a pointless consolation when we keep leaving empty-handed. It’s disappointing. It’s irritating. We are so close and never get there.”
Mihajlovic asked many times for a center-forward but was not rewarded by the club. “I don’t know if a center-forward will arrive, I don’t know what we’ll talk about then. The situation now is that we need to secure our safety against Spezia and Torino. It’s a pity, as after Inter last week, we again did not deserve to lose 1-0 against teams that on paper are much stronger than us. You didn’t see the difference on the pitch, and if anything we were superior in both matches. We always played on level terms, we have not been steam-rollered by anyone. It keeps happening and that means we’re missing something.”
Bologna (4-2-3-1): Skorupski; De Silvestri, Soumaro, Danilo, Djiks; Svanberg, Schouten; Orsolini, Soriano, Barrow; Palacio

Injured: Hickey, Medel, Santander
Vincenzo Italiano admitted it wasn’t Spezia’s best game, but they ‘never gave up’ and managed to beat Crotone 3-2. This was arguably Spezia’s worst performance of the season, yet they managed to turn it around in stoppages to go from 2-1 down to win 3-2. “We never gave up, because going 2-1 down could’ve killed anyone, but instead we ended up winning. Crotone plays good football, they have some quality players, and winning this game means a lot to us,” Italiano told the media. “We are too unpredictable and naïve, so we cannot say we are safe yet. These are three very useful points, but there’s a lot of work to be done still. There were a lot of spaces and we didn’t move the ball as quickly as usual. There are other elements too, such as determination, pride, and fighting to take three points even when not being beautiful. These can happen throughout a campaign, for example, the time we hit the woodwork four times with Parma and they equalized at the end.”
Spezia (4-3-3): Provedel; Ferrer, Ismajli, Chabot, Marchizza; Estevez, M Ricci, Maggiore; Gyasi, Nzola, Verde
Suspended: none
Injured: none

Daniel Garcia is originally from Basque Country, and as a kid who grew up just a few streets from Mendizorrotza Stadium, the choice of Deportivo Alavés as his favourite club is more than obvious. Because of his studies, he moved to Madrid where he graduated in Sports Journalism. Daniel plays football on the weekends, but that does not stop him from watching all La Liga matches. He believes that the outcome of a match can be predicted if all the parameters are analyzed well, including form of the players and weather conditions. Currently he is living in Belgrade, and is in love with a Serbian girl who works as a journalist at one of the famous Sport Channels in Serbia.
