Bournemouth host Brentford at the Vitality Stadium (Bournemouth) in the 44th round of the Championship and the match kicks off at 12.30 pm (UK) on Saturday, April 24. Read our reasons for Bournemouth vs Brentford prediction and betting tips.
Bournemouth now sit one place ahead of Swansea after stretching their astonishing winning streak to seven games with a thumping 4-1 win over Millwall on Wednesday night. It's a run that has seen the Cherries go from top-six contenders to all but sealing a place in this season's play-offs. As for Brentford, the history seems to be repeating. The last season's late drop in form is coming back again and it will haunt Thomas Frank’s men. It’s not that they aren’t picking points up – it’s that their wins have dried up. The Bees's last six games, against sides they’d be tipped to beat, have seen them win just once while picking up five draws.
Bournemouth maintained their fine recent form as they thrashed Millwall 4-1 at the Den to move up to third in the Championship, and closer to securing a play-off spot. First-half goals from Philip Billing, Arnaut Danjuma and David Brooks put the Cherries well on top, with Dominic Solanke also getting in on the act in a seventh straight league win. Jed Wallace notched a consolation for Millwall, who otherwise offered little going forward.
The Cherries come into this game with a place in the play-offs all but secure. Watford’s win over Norwich has dampened talk of automatic promotion in all but the most optimistic fan, and it is very unlikely that both Barnsley and Reading could overhaul the Cherries. However, still want momentum heading into the play-offs though, so there will be no letting up. Saturday against Brentford will be a good indicator for the play-offs and Bournemouth should go into that with confidence.
There are just over two weeks of the Championship season to go and the majority of teams will go into the weekend with three games remaining. Brentford are one of a few with more than that and start their final four matches this Saturday. The game will pit two of the teams currently in the top five of the Championship against each other and two on consistent runs of form. For Brentford, this run has mainly been draws. A 1-1 draw with Cardiff City on Tuesday night was the sixth in seven matches. The Bees are unbeaten in eight and have lost one in 11, but have drawn most of them.
The point against Cardiff leaves Brentford fourth in the table. The result has realistically ended the Bees’ chances of winning automatic promotion to the Premier League and was their second draw in four days following Saturday’s goalless stalemate with Millwall. The Bees are a point behind Swansea, in third, with a game in hand. However, Thomas Frank insisted that even though automatic promotion is virtually beyond the Bees now, their approach to the next match would not alter.

Bournemouth meet Brentford at the Vitality Stadium for the first time since August 2014, winning 1-0 with a goal from Junior Stanislas. When the two teams met earlier this season Brentford celebrated a 2-1 win at the Community Stadium and their last league double over the Cherries was in League Two in the 2008-09 season under Andy Scott.
Bournemouth have won their last six league games, scoring a total of 18 goals. They last won more consecutive matches in the EFL in April 2013 – a run of eight in League One. On the other hand, Brentford have lost just one of their last 12 league games (W4, D7) although they have drawn seven of their last eight (W1), keeping three clean sheets in their last five.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city. Instead, ever since he was a kid, Tucker was passionate for lower divisions. This passion was born when his uncle from Reading took him to the local derby with Aldershot Town when he was 6 and since that moment football was running through his veins. He became a huge fan of the Royals for life, and whenever he could, he goes to Madejski Stadium to enjoy the game. Apart from being a job, his sports knowledge also becomes more than useful when he is betting live on high stakes which is also his passion.
